2. Bundesliga

Fortuna Düsseldorf have continued their preparations for another promotion push in 2025/26 by signing Christian Rasmussen on a permanent basis from Ajax.
The 22-year-old winger made 25 first-team appearances for the Amsterdam side having joined their youth ranks from FC Nordsjælland in his native Denmark in 2019. Twenty two of those run-outs came last season, when Rasmussen registered two goals and two assists as they finished as runners-up in the Eredivisie.
"This summer, I had to make a very important decision for myself," Rasmussen said. "I had several opportunities and deliberately chose Düsseldorf. Fortuna gives young players the chance to show off and develop, and they have great fans. I want to help the team find their way to the Bundesliga with goals and assists and win as many games as possible."
The Dane has also represented his country from U16 level all the way through to the U21’s, for whom he has made eight appearances.
He has proven his versatility at club and international level, regularly playing as a centre-forward for his country or in attacking midfield, something which Fortuna’s sporting director Christian Weber values greatly:
"We're really looking forward to Christian and see him primarily on the right wing, where his understanding of the game, his sense of space, and his creativity can pose a threat in the final third. He's also capable of playing in all other attacking positions and has the ability to both set up his teammates and look for the finish himself."
