Matchday 6 results

Dynamo Dresden 2-2 HannoverGoals: 0-1 Pichler (11’), 1-1 Ghiță (35’, o.g.), 2-1 Fröhling (41’), 2-2 Aseko (43’)Red card: Šapina (54’)

After tasting their first defeat under Christian Titz at the hands of Hertha Berlin last time out, Hannover travelled to Dresden to face a Dynamo side with just one league win to their name in 2025/26. Benedikt Pichler’s converted penalty thrust the visitors into an early lead before Dynamo turned things around towards the end of the half with a quick-fire double, but Noel Aseko drew Hannover back level just minutes later. Dynamo were hamstrung by a red card to Vinko Šapina after the restart but managed to hold on to claim a valuable point.

Fortuna Düsseldorf 0-3 Darmstadt
Goals: 0-1 Akiyama (65'), 0-2 Nürnberger (67'), 0-3 Lidberg (74')

Florian Kohfeldt's Darmstadt achieved a historic result at the Merkur-Spiel Arena, beating Fortuna for the first time in 37 years. This result, combined with Hannover's draw at Dresden lifted them to the top of Bundesliga 2. After a lacklustre first 45, the visitors came to life in the second period and blew away Daniel Thioune's men with three goals in a nine-minute spell. Hiroki Akiyama pounced on an Isac Lidberg layoff in the Fortuna box to open the scoring before Fabian Nürnberger made it 2-0. Düsseldorf showed some promise early in the second half, but that was quickly washed away by the goals. Lidberg grabbed the third to seal a well-earned three points and first place for the visitors.

Kaiserslautern 4-1 Preußen Münster
Goals: 1-0 Prtajin 7', 2-0 Skyttä 17', 3-0 Prtajin 24', 3-1 Vilhelmsson 50', 4-1 Prtajin 64'

Kaiserslautern recorded a third consecutive win, blowing Münster away in devastating fashion on Friday evening. The hosts went into the break with most of the hard work done, having already hit three goals by that point, two of which came from Ivan Prtajin, who has well and truly found his groove in Lautern colours. Oscar Vilhelmsson's goal offered brief hope of a comeback, but that was quickly shut down by the rampant Red Devils, with Prtajin completeing his hat-trick just past the hour.

Arminia Bielefeld 1-3 Greuther Fürth
Goals: 0-1 Futkeu 25', 1-1 Wörl 50', 1-2 John 81', 1-3 Klaus 90'+4

Fürth bounced back from their defeat against Kaiserslautern last week with a solid away performance against Bielefeld, picking up three points on the road for the second time this term. Noel Futkeu gave them the lead after a bright start, before the hosts pulled themselves back into the game through Marius Wörl. The second half was much tighter than the first, but Marco John's rather fortunate cross-turned-shot goal gave the visitors the lead shortly before the end of normal time, with Felix Klaus confirming their victory at the death with a brilliant finish.

Eintracht Braunschweig 1-4 Elversberg
Goals: 0-1
Ebnoutalib 12', 1-1 Yardimci 20', 1-2 Gyamerah 34', 1-3 Ebnoutalib 79', 1-4 Schmahl 86'

Elversberg ran out 4-1 winners against Braunschweig at the Eintracht-Stadion with the kind of performance that justified them sitting at the top of the table at the time. Younes Ebnoutalib scored a brace of goals for the third matchday in a row and starred in a superb display from the visitors against an Eintracht side that struggled to keep up with their domination of the game. Going down to 10 at the hour mark made matters worse for the Lions despite equalising early on thanks to Erencan Yardımcı. Defeat leaves them in 11th place.

Magdeburg 0-2 Schalke
Goals: 0-1 Karaman 10’, 0-2 Karaman 56’ (pen.)

Schalke continued their positive start to the season with a clinical 2-0 win away against struggling Magdeburg. Kenan Karaman opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a precise finish before doubling the lead early in the second half from the penalty spot after Ron Schallenberg was on the receiving end of a high boot. The hosts had their chances, but yet again they walked away with less than they deserved.

Hertha Berlin 0-2 Paderborn
Goals: 0-1 Bilbija 38’, 0-2 Bilbija 58’ (pen.)

Hertha's woes at the Olympiastadion continued as they suffered a 2-0 defeat against an efficient Paderborn side. The visitors controlled the affair for the most part and took the lead through Filip Bilbija before half-time. The 25-year-old doubled the lead from the spot close to the hour mark and it was effectively game over from then on, as the Berliners offered little threat going forward and came away empty-handed.

Nuremberg 2-1 Bochum
Goals: 1-0 Justvan 68’, 1-1 Sissoko 86’ (pen.), 2-1 Grimaldi 90+2’

Bochum were the better side in the opening stages, putting the hosts under pressure through Maximilian Wittek and Philipp Hofmann. Despite their bright start, they couldn’t create a clear chance, and Nuremberg grew into the game. Golden opportunities for Pape Demba Diop and Finn Becker, either side of Fabio Gruber’s disallowed goal, gave the hosts the momentum at the break. Julian Justvan’s superb solo effort put Nuremberg ahead in the second half, only for Ibrahim Sissoko to level from the penalty spot. Hope was not lost though, and Adriano Grimaldi popped up in additional time to make sure the three points stayed in Nuremberg for the Bavarians' first win of the season.

Holstein Kiel 3-0 Karlsruhe
Goals: 0-1
Kaprálik (25'), 0-2 Zec (36'), 0-3 Harres (71')

Kiel produced a dominant display against Karlsruhe to win back-to-back games in Bundesliga 2 for the first time this season. Marcel Rapp's side missed an early chance to take the lead from the penalty spot, as Jonas Therkelsen's effort wasn't good enough to beat the visiting keeper Hans Christian Bernat. They brushed that off very quickly to score two before half-time courtesy of Adrián Kaprálik and David Zec. Striker Phil Harres finished the job in the second half to give the Storks a deserved three points against a Karlsruhe side who did produce numerous chances of their own, and yet failed to find the finishing touch each time.
