Just two days after the an 8-3 away defeat at Nuremberg, Jahn Regensburg have relieved head coach Joe Enochs of his duties.
Following intensive discussions, SSV Jahn Regensburg and head coach Joe Enochs jointly came to the decision on Sunday morning to end their partnership. The move was precipitated by the club's current struggle for form - with only four points taken from the previous ten league games, and made imperative by Friday's 3-8 defeat away to 1. FC Nürnberg.
"This parting of the ways is really very difficult for us and for me personally," Regensburg Sporting Director Achim Beierlorzer told the club's website. "We would like to thank Joe from the bottom of our hearts for all that he has achieved with the team."
"Unfortunately, we have not managed to get good results in the past few weeks," said Enochs. "I am convinced that the team has the potential to get back on the road to success and avoid relegation."
Assistant coach Andreas Patz will take over training of the senior squad until a long-term replacement has been found. He will lead the team into the home cup tie against Greuther Fürth on Tuesday.
