Bayern Munich are out to make history in the USA this summer as winners of the inaugural expanded FIFA Club World Cup. bundesliga.com looks at which players can make a serious impact in Bayern’s hunt to be crowned the world's best club...

>>> FIFA Club World Cup 2025 explained!

1) Harry Kane

After finally ending his wait for a major club trophy, Bayern’s talismanic striker will be hungry to add to his collection this summer. After an impressive debut campaign that yielded the Bundesliga top-scorer trophy, the England captain was in sensational form once again this season, smashing home 37 goals across all competitions. There were 26 in 31 Bundesliga appearances as another Torjägerkanone was added and 11 in 13 UEFA Champions League outings. More goals will surely follow at the Club World Cup.

Despite those impressive numbers, it hasn't all been about goals for Bayern's No. 9 this season. With 11 assists in all competitions - of which eight came in the league - Kane has also provided the Bavarians with a valuable creative outlet in the final third.

2) Thomas Müller

Fresh off the back of sealing a record-extending 13th Bundesliga title, Müller will be looking to win one more piece of silverware before bringing his exceptional Bayern career to a close. This summer’s tournament will be Müller’s swan song with the Bavarians, and he will be desperate to go out on top of the world.

In lieu of Jamal Musiala, who had sustained a hamstring injury after Matchday 28, Müller enjoyed more regular playing time in the back end of the season, starting four of the seven games that the 22-year-old missed. Müller also demonstrated his Champions League pedigree in the youngster’s absence as he notched the equaliser against the eventual beaten finalists Inter Milan in the first leg of the quarter-final.

"In the best case (scenario), we return home from this first big Club World Cup as winners," Müller told his club's official website ahead of heading stateside. "Then I hope we have the feeling that we’ve achieved something really great again as a team,” the footballing legend added.

3) Jamal Musiala

While injury kept Musiala out for the final few weeks of the season, expect to see the 22-year-old back with a vengeance at the Club World Cup as he nears a return to full fitness. Musiala is Bayern’s dribbling wizard with the creativity to match, and both FCB and Germany are always better for having him on the pitch.

This season saw the midfielder ramp up his offensive output too. With 67 shots taken, he hadthe third-most attempts on goal of any Bayern player. The 2024/25 campaign was also the best goalscoring season of his career, with 18 goals in all competitions.

Jamal Musiala is back in training and stepping up his recovery ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

4) Michael Olise

Olise has been everything that Bayern could have hoped for since joining from Crystal Palace last summer, and he fits the side like a glove. He has made the right flank his own while becoming one of the first names on Vincent Kompany’s teamsheet.

In addition to a highly commendable 12 goals in his maiden Bundesliga campaign, the Frenchman - named the Bundesliga's Rookie of the Season - was the league's top playmaker, with his 15 assists the highest tally across the entire division. But that's not all. The No. 17 also acrrued a hugely impressive passes to a shot tally of 80, which lends further weight to the argument that Musiala's improved attacking output in the 2024/25 season could be accredited in part to Olise's skilful creativity.

Alongisde fellow newcomer Tom Bischof, Tah will join up with his new teammates ahead of the trip across the Atlantic, with both players' transfers moved forward in order to register for the Club World Cup.

The 29-year-old joins off the back of yet another impressive season for Die Werkself in which he played the full 90 minutes in 33 of their 34 games. A mainstay at the heart of defence, Tah is as reliable as they come; a truth made evident by his 93.86 per cent successful pass rate from open play being the second highest in the league behind only his soon-to-be teammate Minjae Kim
