Alphonso Davies has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich tying him to the record German champions until 2025.
The 19-year-old Canada international has enjoyed a stellar first full season at Bayern following his January 2019 arrival from Vancouver Whitecaps, making the left-back spot his own this season.
Nominally a winger, and with French World Cup-winning left-back Lucas Hernandez having joined club legend David Alaba in competition for that spot in defence, few predicted Davies' break-out campaign in European football would happen exactly where it did.

Davies has flourished in the role however, with Alaba lining up alongside him at centre-back. In 21 games, 17 of which have been starts, Davies has scored once and provided four assists, as well as helping his team to eight clean sheets.
"I am very happy," Davies said. "FC Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world, and for me it's a dream come true to play here. I felt happy from day one. I want to win as many titles as possible with this club. The mentality of always wanting to win everything is in FC Bayern's DNA."
"Alphonso Davies is a player who has already achieved a high level of performance at a young age and at the same time still has great potential for development," elaborated executive board member Oliver Kahn.
"Anyone who can consistently play at the top level at FC Bayern at such a young age can have a great career ahead of them. We are all happy to have him with us in the long term. He brings an incredible amount to the table and we are sure that we will still have a lot of joy with him."
