Bundesliga
Jonas Hofmann had a goal and an assist and Victor Boniface a brace as Bayer Leverkusen dismissed UEFA Conference League winners West Ham 4-0 thanks to their new signings.
Goals: 1-0 Hofmann (9'), 2-0 Boniface (23'), 3-0 Boniface (37'), 4-0 Andrich (pen, 70')
This was Leverkusen's final pre-season game before getting their Bundesliga campaign underway against RB Leipzig in two weeks - with a DFB Cup first round meeting with Teutonia Ottensen in between - and Xabi Alonso named something approaching a full-stregth side, with Hofmann handed his first start at the BayArena since joining from Borussia Mönchengladbach. He wasted little time in impressing, curling an early free-kick in off Lukasz Fabianski's far post. It was 2-0 soon after, when Amine Adli beck-heeled into Hofmann's path before he squared for Boniface to double the lead. Boniface then hit a stunning volley after Florian Wirtz's chip, allaying any fears some may have had as to his ability to replace the injured Patrick Schick.
West Ham moved to a back five at the break and began to look a bit more sure of themselves, with Tomas Soucek heading a Jarrod Bowen corner back off Lukas Hradecky's crossbar midway through the half. But Bayer would have the final say when Boniface was brought down in the box and Robert Andrich - hitherto sidelined with a broken foot - stepped up to thump home the resulting penalty. Granit Xhaka - who was effectively replaced by West Ham's Declan Rice at Arsenal this summer - went off to a standing ovation late on. He was followed by Wirtz, whom Die Werkself hope hasn't picked up a knock after a clumsy Conor Coventry challenge.

As it happened
Leverkusen simply have too much for West Ham in their final pre-season game, running out 4-0 winners at the BayArena thanks to goals from Hofmann, Boniface (x2) and Andrich (pen.).
Xhaka heads off as the rain pours down in Leverkusen. Die Werkself looking comfortable despite the inclement weather.
Wirtz makes way for Amiri. A slight limp as he leaves the pitch, but he was probably due a rest anyway.
The offside flag goes up against Adli before West Ham youngster Coventry goes into the book for clipping Wirtz.
Leverkusen are dominating possession but content with the scoreline, as an approving Alonso watches on.
Boniface goes off to a standing ovation thanks to his brace, as Hlozek comes on to replace him.
Moyes rings the changes for West Ham but this one looks to be all over.
Leverkusen confirm today's attendance at 25,325.
Andrich steps up to convert! The ideal comeback from a broken foot for the Bayer midfielder!
Bonface is brought down in the West Ham box.
Arthur gets into the box but he tries to thread a pass through instead of going for goal and the chance goes begging.
Wirtz slips Adli in with a blindside pass, but the young Frenchman blazes over.
Alonso make a couple of changes with Andrich and Koussounou on for Palacios of Hofmann.
Boniface is played clean through on goal but Kehrer gets back to recover the danger.
Adli and Wirtz with some smart interplay on the left before the former pulls the trigger, but his effort is too close to Fabianski.
Bennrahma's shot comes back off the inside of Hradecky's post.
Soucek tests Hradecky from range. West Ham have moved to a back five for the second half, meanwhile.
Boniface nearly seals his hat-trick with the first attack of the second half, flying clear on the left before letting fly with his left! Fabianski gets down well to save.
We're back underway at the BayArena.
Leverkusen lead 3-0 at the break thanks to goals from Hofmann and Boniface (x2).
Wirtz lifts the ball into Boniface's path and the new Leverkusen striker volleys his second goal of the game into the far bottom corner.
Xhaka catches it well this time on his nominally weaker right foot, but it's straight at Fabianski.
Boniface tees Xhaka up for a shot which he blasts against Ogbonna. The flag had gone up for offside anyway.

Leverkusen remain in the ascendancy thanks to goals from Hofmann and Boniface as we pass the half-hour mark.
Bowen whips an out-swinging corner into the Leverkusen box, but it ultimately comes to nothing.
A beautifully worked second goal from Leverkusen. Adli backheels into Hofmann in the box, he squares for Boniface and the Nigerian is left with a tap-in.
Paqueta goes into the book for an agricultural challenge on Palacios.
A worry for West Ham as Bowen goes down relatively unchallenged on the far side. He's back up and running, for now…
Hofmann sends the subsequent corner in but Xhaka's header is palmed over by Fabianski.
Arthur gets around Kehrer again and aims for Boniface at the back post but the pass can’t quite reach him.
Xhaka is seeing a lot of the ball in midfield, while Frimpong and Hofmann are indeed busy up the right-hand side for Leverkusen.

Arthur cuts the ball back to Hofmann but the former Gladbach man's first-time effort is saved by Fabianski.
Die Werkself's 30,210 BayArena isn't far off capacity and the fans are in full voice. What an atmosphere for a pre-season friendly!
We're underway at the BayArena!
Xabi Alonso looks to have switched to a 4-2-3-1 system having used a 3-4-3 for much of last season. Summer signing Victor Bonface leads the line with Patrick Schick and Serdar Azmoun both still injured, with Florian Wirtz playing in behind. Granit Xhaka anchors the midfield alongside Exequiel Palacios, while Jeremie Frimpong and Jonas Hoffmann figure to form a formidable right-hand side, unless the latter switches flanks.
Good news for Hammers fans will be that Lucas Paqueta is fit enough to play having decided to forego shoulder surgery. Schalke academy graduate Thilo Kehrer is a familiar face for Bundesliga followers. He lines up in a back four which includes Angelo Ogbonna, who is captain in Declan Rice's absence. Rice left for Arsenal this summer, effectively replacing Leverkusen-bound Granit Xhaka.
