Shorn of the departed Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané as well as the injured Jamal Musiala, who fits the bill in Bayern's forward line?
It would seem unlikely that Bayern will head into a brand-new campaign without any new attacking signings in the transfer market.
With Müller's departure added to that of Sané - now at Galatasaray - and Musiala out with a long-term injury, the Bavarian giants will no doubt be monitoring replacements as Vincent Kompany's side prepare for the defence of their Bundesliga title.
Watch: Kane and Olise - Bayern's deadly duo
However, in a scenario whereby the record German champions opted to stay as they are right now, there would be some intriguing forward options available to the men in red for the 2025/26 term.
For starters, there are four regular, forward-thinking supremos who would rightly be the envy of any team the world over. Striker Harry Kane is a household name in the game and one of the few players around who can guarantee over 25 goals a season at the very highest level.
Among those playing in support of England's top marksman is Michael Olise, who was a revelation in his first Bundesliga campaign. The flying France attacker finished 2024/25 as the division's top assist provider with 15 and an outstanding 27 goal involvements in the top-tier alone.
Watch: The best of Serge Gnabry in 24/25
Ever-present in the Bundesliga last time out, the vast majority of Olise's success came from the right flank but the 23-year-old showed just as much verve and imagination in his two games at attacking midfield, a position he also occupied in his first foray into the UEFA Champions League.
Versatile wide men Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry boast 15 Bundesliga titles between them and as well as helping the Bavarian giants with an abundance of goals and assists over the years. Their ability to play in several positions has proved invaluable to Bayern coaches past and present.
For example, Coman's UEFA Champions League final winning strike against Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 came from his preferred position the left, however, in almost 340 games for Bayern, the Parisian has also operated on the opposite flank, in deeper, wide midfield roles and even as a second striker.
Gnabry - now 30 - has been just as versatile. Operating mostly wide on the right, Bayern's No.7 has featured in several positions through the middle, including as a false nine, from where he has produced eight goals in 15 games.
That's a fraction of the 93 Gnabry has scored for the team in 285 appearances, but testament to his ability to more than just perform a job in whatever position he is asked to play.
Watch: Wanner began with a bang at Heidenheim
It's not just the more experienced Bayern attackers who offer coach Kompany the peace of mind of being able to manoeuvre his on-field options during a game or whenever a key player misses out. What makes the 2025/26 campaign so exciting for fans of Die Rekordmeister is that fact that there are several young versatile stars set to vie for their places in Bayern's first team.
With the aforementioned departures of Müller and Sané from the club and the need to replace Musiala for the medium term, Paul Wanner, Tom Bischof, Lennart Karl and Jonah Kusi-Asare will all be stepping up their collective efforts to grab the attentions of the first-team decision makers in the coming weeks.
Wanner enjoyed an exceptional start to his loan season at Heidenheim last term, the attacking midfielder scoring two of his three Bundesliga goals - and providing an assist - in the opening two games of the 2024/25 season as the minnows hit top spot in the standings.
A player who excels in a central attacking position, Wanner can also play on the right and even did so in his Bundesliga debut for Bayern back in January 2022 against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Added to his 41 games for Heidenheim last season - which included European experience in the club's maiden campaign in continental competition - the Germany U21 international has already played eight senior games for Bayern.
Watch: What Bischof offers Bayern
Along with Bischof, the duo could compete for Musiala's position in attack when Bayern begin a fresh new season.
Signed from Hoffenheim, the latter made his Bayern bow at the this summer's Club World Cup. With Musiala nursing a knock ahead of the Benfica game in the group stages, the 20-year-old Bischof began in the young superstar's stead, with Gnabry alongside to guide the recent Germany senior international debutant.
A sensational campaign at club level for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga saw Bischof weigh in with seven goal involvements in 31 games as the Sinsheimers ensured top-flight survival.
The 17-year-old Karl was another to make his first appearance for Bayern at the Club World Cup, the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt youth enjoying 45 minutes as the Bavarian's ran out comprehensive winners against Auckland City.
Karl played on the right wing that June day but the player who has drawn comparisons with Arjen Robben is another who enjoys a central attacking role and the fact that he hit 24 goals from that position for Bayern's youth teams last year (he netted 10 from the right wing), tells of a promise that might be too hard for Kompany to resist trying as he gears up for a title defence and a fresh tilt at European competition.
Kompany and the Bayern hierarchy will have an interesting decision to make on another young forward in Kusi-Asare.
The Sweden U21 international made his senior Bayern debut when replacing Kane in a Bundesliga victory against Mainz last season. Only recently turned 18, the Solna native was with Bayern at the Club World Cup in the United states and the versatile forward appears hungry to become a more permanent part of the senior set-up after his seven goal involvements in 22 youth games last term.
All told, even before any possible summer business, Bayern's 2025/26 attacking options are the envy of teams all across the continent.
