Lewandowski makes history as Bayern trounce Bochum

Robert Lewandowski scored for a record 13th Bundesliga home game in a row as Bayern Munich thrashed promoted Bochum 7-0 at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich 7-0 Bochum
Goals: 1-0 Sane (17'), 2-0 Kimmich (27'), 3-0 Gnabry (36'), 4-0 Lampropoulos (o.g. 43'), 5-0 Lewandowski (61'), 6-0 Kimmich (64'), 7-0 Choupo-Moting (79')

Bayern took to the field in their limited edition green threads, in homage to the Munich Oktoberfest. After August Goal of the Month winner Gerrit Holtmann tested Manuel Neuer with a shot from range, Bochum were left feeling green with envy. Leroy Sane broke the deadlock with a stunning free-kick, before teeing up Joshua Kimmich for a fabulous turn and finish. Manuel Riemann denied Serge Gnabry once but not twice as the Germany international added a third from Thomas Müller's clever pass. Müller then forced Vasilis Lampropoulos to put past his own goalkeeper late in a first half that had everything but a record-breaking Lewandowski goal.

Normal service was resumed around the hour-mark. Gnabry and Sane combined before Lewandowski, with a little help from Anthony Losilla, extended his scoring hot-streak from close range. Bochum substitute Silvere Ganvoula returned fire, only to have his strike from a tight angle ruled out for offside. Kimmich doubled his tally with Bayern's next attack, turning in Leon Goretzka's knock-down header, before Bayern substitute Erix-Maxim Choupo-Moting got in on the act, bringing up his 50th Bundesliga goal after his first two attempts had been saved. The offside flag denied Müller a slice of the goal-scoring pie, not that the 25,000 fans in attendance could have any complaints following a gala display by the record champions.
