Bayern Munich clinched a 10th straight Bundesliga title with Serge Gnabry, Robert Lewandowski and Jamal Musiala on target in a 3-1 win against Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker.

Up against it as they looked to spoil the home party against a Bayern side roared on by a capacity crowd, Dortmund's task became even more difficult when the hosts forged ahead on the quarter-hour. Serge Gnabry's scheming run onto a Leon Goretzka through pass had earned Bayern a corner brought about by Raphael Guerreiro's last-ditch tackle. From Joshua Kimmich's subsequent set piece, Goretzka outmuscled his markers to nod back invitingly for Gnabry, who controlled on his thigh before thumping an unstoppable volley past the rooted Marwin Hitz. BVB had lost all six of the teams' previous Klassikers and were without a win against their rivals since 2014. In Erling Haaland, however, the Black-and-Yellows had hope in a player who had netted five goals in six games against the record champions. Yet after the Norwegian sliced wide when well placed on 27 minutes, the omens only looked good for Bayern. Gnabry had just had a goal disallowed when Lewandowski - who else? - had the music blaring inside the Allianz Arena once more, the Pole sliding in his 33rd top-flight goal of the Bundesliga season from yet another Thomas Müller assist.
If visiting coach Marco Rose was looking for half-time words of encouragement, he could have pointed to the fact that Dortmund had outscored Bayern and collected the same number of points in the second half of the season. Whatever he said, his words worked, with Die Schwarzgelben upping their intensity to such an extent that they were awarded a penalty when Kimmich felled Marco Reus inside the box. Emre Can beat Manuel Neuer from the spot, and it was game on, with BVB suddenly in the ascendency. Haaland fed Reus, whose shot connected with Neuer's legs before the home defenders hacked clear. Lucas Hernandez then made a sliding tackle to deny Dortmund's lively No. 11 a shot at the target. Julian Nagelsmann's rallying cry to his players from the touchline implied peak Klassiker mode had now been reached. Hitz stopped the goal-hungry Lewandowski from registering his second with a solid stop while, at the other end, Haaland's deflected drive was tipped wide by Neuer, who would later see the the Norwegian forward blast over as time ticked down. Sensing they had weathered the storm, Bayern then put the visitors to the sword, Musiala slamming home with conviction to get the title party started.
