Bundesliga
As one of Der Klassiker's outstanding performers, Mats Hummels praised Borussia Dortmund's showing in the visitors' 2-0 victory at the Allianz Arena. For Bayern Munich's Thomas Tuchel and Thomas Müller, meanwhile, there was only disappointment.
bundesliga.com rounds up the thoughts from both camps following Saturday's Klassiker...
Mats Hummels (defender): "It was important that we played a game like that again and that we no longer have to count the years until we finally won in Munich again. We managed [a victory] in just under ten years. It was also a statement for us that we can do it, that we can play football. If we defend that well as a team, we can achieve good results against top teams. Only top opponents await us in the month of April."

Edin Terzić (head coach): "We are happy and extremely satisfied with the performance. It was a deserved victory. We can build on that. With great moments we managed to win the game. We worked hard to be lucky enough to [not concede]. This is our fifth win in a row and now come the exciting games of the season. Today, we showed our Champions League face. Our next difficult task awaits us next weekend against VfB Stuttgart."

Nico Schlotterbeck (defender): "I have to pay a big compliment to everyone in defence. Emre [Can] worked incredibly hard in front of the defence and then Mats and I were able to clear the ball if something slipped through. The way Alex [Meyer] is playing is unbelievable. Two years ago, he was playing at Regensburg and now he’s playing in the Allianz Arena. He’s doing an unbelievably good job, and that’s why I’m very happy with the whole of the defence."
Thomas Tuchel (Bayern head coach): "It’s not only the situation for the goals. In general, the match was very passive, very low on energy levels and exactly not what we wanted. Again we are a little bit back to square one. We thought we’d overcome this. We had this too many times this season, and again it happened to us, and we got punished."

Thomas Müller (Bayern attacker): "Of course it’s a bit of an emotional dampener. If you want to try and find reasons then it's maybe that Leverkusen again managed to win in the last minute, but, and I can only talk for myself. I still always go into games like this with great excitement. You look forward to the backdrop, to the atmosphere, to scoring goals and winning tackles. In the first half, the decisive moments unfortunately didn’t go our way and we made too many mistakes. We had two huge chances with Harry’s [Kane] header and Eric’s [Dier] too, which Mats [Hummels] saved on the line. We simply lacked efficiency.

"Every single player has to ask himself if he gave everything possible today in terms of performance. It’s about how well we implement the technical, tactical and physical aspects of our game - less about what is happening with Leverkusen. They way they are going at the moment means the outlook is not positive."
