Robert Lewandowski (c.) put Bayern Munich ahead from the penalty spot against Dynamo Kyiv in what was their second group game of the campaign.

Robert Lewandowski's first-half double sent Bayern Munich on their way to making it two wins from two in this season's UEFA Champions League thanks a 5-0 home success against Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday.

Bayern Munich 5-0 Dynamo Kyiv
Goals: 1-0 Lewandowski (12' pen.), 2-0 Lewandowski (27'), 3-0 Gnabry (68'), 4-0 Sane (74'), 5-0 Choupo-Moting (87')

Lewandowski had scored twice in Barcelona to help the German champions to a 3-0 victory on Matchday 1 of the group stage, and it wasn't long before the reigning world player of the year was threatening again. The Pole had a powerful header well tipped over the bar by Kyiv goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan, and from the corner that followed Bayern were awarded a penalty. After the ball had struck the elbow of visiting captain Serhiy Sydorchuk, Lewandowski calmly sent Buschan the wrong way from the spot. Right-back Niklas Süle then shot wide from just outside the area as Kyiv showed good organisation until Lewandowski got his second. The European Golden Shoe winner had all the time in the world to pick his spot after being found in space by a Thomas Müller through-ball. Leroy Sane than smacked a shot off the base of the post before a rapid break from Kyiv ended with Manuel Neuer brilliantly flicking out a hand to push Carlos De Pena's cushioned effort over the top.

Kyiv made two changes at the break in a bid to turn the game around, but instead Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich, Lewandowski and Sane all had chances to add to the home side's lead. Serge Gnabry then smashed home Bayern's third after being released by Sane, and the latter player scored another when his cross from the left - or was it a shot? - caught out the keeper. Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting came off the bench to round off another impressive win for the home side with a fine downward header from a Benjamin Pavard cross as Bayern cemented their position atop Group E.

CHOUPO-MOTING WITH THE FIFTH!

Just when it looks like Bayern are winding down, the man who replaced Lewandowski just a few minutes ago gets in on the act. It's a good cross from fellow substitute Benjamin Pavard, and a fine downward header across the keeper and into the corner from Choupo-Moting.

SANE FOR FOUR!

If Sane has meant this it's a stroke of genius. There are Bayern players waiting for a cross from the left, and the former Manchester City winger looks to line one up. Instead his ball in catches the keeper out. There's not much of a celebration from Sane...

GNABRY MAKES IT THREE!

Breathtaking stuff from Bayern and they get another goal. It comes as Kyiv commit some bodies forward, but Süle is able to clear the ball on the edge of the penalty area. Sane then shifted the ball to Gnabry, who did well to stay onside, and he raced clear from the halfway line before thumping the ball into the roof of the net.

SECOND-HALF STARTS

We're underway again in Munich.

vs

BAYERN LEAD AT THE BREAK

Robert Lewandowski's penalty and simple second have Bayern in control at half-time in Munich. Leroy Sane hit the post as well and while Kyiv have thrown a couple of punches too, it's hard to see the home side slip up here. They've had 63 percent of the ball so far as well as 11 attempts at goal to Kyiv's five.

KYIV ON TARGET AGAIN

Shaparenko has another shot on target but it's a much more straightforward stop for Neuer this time.

Müller finds Lewandowski in lots of space on the edge of the area with a nice through ball. The Polish striker has all the time in the world to pick his spot. It's a second of the night for the reigning world player of the year - and it could turn into a long night for Kyiv.

The game is underway in Munich.

vs

STRONG RECORD

Bayern have a particularly good record in the Champions League group stage, having gone 23 games unbeaten (20W, 3D). Kyiv, meanwhile, have only two wins from their last 13 games in the competition.

vs

MÜLLER THIRD ON ALL-TIME LIST

Müller got his 218th goal for Bayern in their win at Fürth. That puts him third on the all-time list of club goalscorers, behind only Gerd Müller (523) and Robert Lewandowski (305). Can the Germany international add to his tally here? He already has 49 career goals in the Champions League.

vs

GNABRY FOR BAYERN

There's just one change from the Bayern team that beat Greuther Fürth 3-1 away last Friday. Serge Gnabry has replaced Benjamin Pavard, so it looks like a return to a four-man defence with Niklas Süle starting at right-back.

Bayern have home advantage on Matchday 2 in the UEFA Champions League group stage as they look to back up their 3-0 win in Barcelona with another victory over Dynamo Kiev.
