Bundesliga
Harry Kane's late brace fired Bayern Munich into the UEFA Champions League knockouts as the reigning Bundesliga champions defeated Galatasaray 2-1 at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern Munich 2-1 Galatasaray
Goals: 1-0 Kane 80' (assist: Kimmich), 2-0 Kane 86' (assist: Tel), 2-1 Bakambu 90'+3 (assist: Oliveira)
In Istanbul two weeks ago, Bayern were put under pressure early on by a Galatasaray outfit which was roared on by a raucous home crowd before ultimately prevailing 3-1. However, in front of their own supporters, Die Roten were far more serene as they looked to secure their place in the next stage of the competition. Still, despite their superiority, clear-cut chances were hard to come by. Dayot Upamecano fired a shot over the bar from a corner in the first five minutes, while Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala shot wide before the former had Bayern's best opportunity of the first half, forcing Fernando Muslera into an important save. Galatasaray, meanwhile, looked to trouble the Bavarians on the counter-attack and, shortly before the interval, Manuel Neuer needed to be alert to keep out danger man Mauro Icardi's effort from close range. As the half-time whistle approached, Thomas Tuchel's side were dealt a blow when Musiala was forced off with a thigh issue - Thomas Müller was his replacement.
After the break, Bayern continued to have chances to break the deadlock, with Kane - quiet up until that point by his usual high standards - hitting the post on the stretch following Leon Goretzka's flick-on. The England international also headed over before Galatasaray began to pose more of a threat, as substitute Barış Alper Yılmaz also nodded an attempt over the crossbar. Shortly after the hour mark, the visitors even thought they had broken the deadlock when Lucas Torreira slotted into the corner inside the penalty area, but the strike was ruled out as Icardi was narrowly offside in the build-up. Following that decision, the intensity dropped somewhat, and the game seemed to be heading towards a goalless draw until the 80st minute. Joshua Kimmich's free-kick into the penalty area was pinpoint, allowing Kane to head beyond Muslera from close range and, despite two VAR checks, the goal eventually stood. As Galatasaray flooded forward in search of an equaliser, Bayern were able to pick them off on the break, with Kane tapping home Mathys Tel's pass. Cédric Bakambu did net a late consolation for the Süper Lig outfit, but it proved to be too little, too late as Bayern progressed to the round of 16 with two Group A games to spare.

As it happened!
Make that 38 Champions League group-stage games unbeaten for Bayern who are into the knockout stages with two games to spare, but there is a degree of relief in Bavaria - Galatasaray did not make that easy.
There are six minutes added on here...
The visitors get one back as Oliveira plays Bakumbu in behind the Bayern back line and he fires across Neuer and into the far corner. Game back on, it seems!
Bayern work the ball around in the confined space on the edge of the penalty area before it's played through to Müller, who swivels instantly and chips over the advancing Muslera...only to watch his shot roll just wide of the far post. Very nearly a third
That's the Bayern forward's 25th Champions League goal in his career, his fourth of the current campaign, his 19th in all competitions and - you may want to sit down for this - his 10th in his last five competitive outings.
Kane again, this time Müller rolls a pass into the run of Tel just to his left. The French youngster sends a first-time cross low to the far side where Kane sidefoots home to surely put this game to bed and Bayern into the knockout stages.
That goal would mean Bayern join champions City and fellow Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig in the Round of 16 with two games to spare. They would not be assured of top spot in Group A just yet though.
The goal was initially in doubt due to an offside flag raised...but was then given. But just as Galatasaray are about to kick off, there's another check...for a foul by Müller...but that is also not given and the goal stands.
Kimmich stands behind a free-kick to the right of centre, some 25 metres from goal. Great delivery as always from the Germany international, it's Kane who gets his head on it...and directs it inside the far post. Fantastic ball in, trademark clinical finishing from Kane.
This would be only the second time in 15 Champions League games that Bayern have failed to score, the previous being last season's 3-0 quarter-final first leg loss at Manchester City.
Mathys Tel has had a habit of coming off the bench to score for Bayern this season. In fact, the France U21 forward has five strikes in 12 cameo appearances, and is averaging a goal every 12 minutes in the Champions League. Tonight, he's got about 18, should be plenty of time!!
Bayern drag their opponents out of shape with another wide ball to Coman. His cross ricochets of Müller. It's dropping invitingly for Sané, but Torreira throws himself acrobatically in front of the Bayern man's close-range shot. Great defending.
The France international has had an effective game, but can't quite find the final ball or the finishing touch. He tries his luck with a first-time effort from the edge of the area, but sends his shot across the face of goal and even beyond Davies' desperate lunge.
The visitors have the ball in the net - as they have threatened to do already tonight - as Torreira scrambles it home after Icardi caused havoc in the Bayern area, but the offside flag is up. There was not a lot in that. That's a big let-off for Bayern.
The free-kick from that Davies foul comes in from the right, substitute Barış Alper Yılmaz rises, and though the ball is behind him, he gets real power on the header...too much, in fact, as it flies over the crossbar.
The Canada international has already been booked when - following a tussle with Torreira in the Bayern left-back position - he lunges in. It's a free-kick to the visitors, but the only card shown is to the Galatasaray coach for his overly vehement demands that the Bayern player get a second yellow.
Müller's cross is turned behind by Boey for a corner...the set piece comes in and finds Kane climbing highest, but he can't keep his header down.
Coman again has space on the right. His cross finds Goretza, who can't direct his header on target but his miscued effort runs for Kane lunging in at the back post - the England captain's touch directs the ball off the post. Bayern so close to the opener.
That's not certain. The on-loan RB Leipzig man played Bayern six times in Germany, and didn't win any of those encounters, losing half of them.
The second half has picked up where the first half ended: Bayern looking like they're in control of things, but Galatasaray suggesting that any sniff of a half-chance and they might take it.
The second half kicks off at the Allianz Arena. No further changes for either side...Müller has actually been out there a while already after coming on for Musiala late in the first half. Clearly the veteran feels he needed some additional warming up.
You have to wonder how this is still goalless! Bayern looked dangerous so many times, Muslera has made a couple of good saves from Sané, while but for Neuer, Galatasaray would be ahead. Another what will surely be entertaining 45 minutes to come.
Very much against the run of play, Galatasaray come close to opening the scoring: Ziyech spots the run as Icardi finds just a yard of space inside the penalty area, but who's there when the Argentine forward's first-time shot spits goalwards? Do we really need to tell you?
Musiala limps round the edge of the pitch to the dugout. In his place, Müller is on for his 147th Champions League appearance, all of them for Bayern.
All the play is heading towards Muslera's goal...Kane twists Torreira inside out and slips a fantastic pass through to Musiala. The offside flag is up though, and the Bayern youngster makes the universal signal that means he needs to come off.
Coman again bursts down the right and once more - instead of putting the ball into the middle of the penalty box - cuts it back looking for Musiala. This time, Ayhan is aware of the danger, and slides in to intercept and snuff out the chance.
Sané sends a free-kick to the back post where Goretzka is unmarked, but the ball is just a little too high and he can only send his header well over Muslera's goal.
Kane finds Goretzka in an advanced position. The Germany international spies Sané charging past him and slides the ball into the run. With Boey at close quarters, Sané can't quite get a clean shot away, and the advancing Muslera blocks the Bayern forward's toe-poked effort.
Bayern string passes together from Neuer's ball out from the back. Coman gives and goes down the right, plays it into the feet of Musiala, who - from the right corner of the box - zips a curling shot just wide of the far post. Another close one, and what a goal that would have been!
The hosts have had some 57 per cent of possession so far, and look dangerous with it.
Bayern sweep forward with real menace. Coman looks up from the right and plays a ball inside to Sané, who measures a curling shot just wide of the far post. Lovely move from the hosts.
Not such happy days for Fonzie as Bayern's flying Canada international is - probably for the first time in his jet-heeled life - late, catching Boey in a tackle to earn himself the game's first yellow card.
Kane digs a chipped through ball behind the visiting back line. Sané races onto it, but as he tries to round Muslera, the veteran goalkeeper gets a solid hand on the ball and the chance is gone. Bayern cutting through for the first time though.
Sané comes over to the left to take Bayern's first corner of the game, but sends his set-piece over the head of everyone in the penalty area.
Seemingly in a tight spot just outside his own penalty area, Davies produces some twinkle-toed magic: he waltzes between two Galatasaray players before nutmegging a third. That was a thing of beauty.
The scoreline of the game in Istanbul did not totally reflect the match, and Galatasaray have clearly come to Germany intent on mixing it once again with Thomas Tuchel's men.
There's a lot of energy going into the game from both sides. Bayern are pressing really high up the pitch, as you might expect.
