Lennart Karl impressed once more as Bayern Munich warmed up for the new season with a friendly win in Zurich.

Teenagers Lennart Karl and Jonah Kusi-Asare scored again as Bayern Munich beat Grasshopper Zurich to continue their perfect pre-season.

Goals: 0-1 Karl 21' (assist: Bischof), 0-2 Kusi-Asare 26' (assist: Karl), 1-2 Giandomenico 51' (assist: Marques)

With four days until the season-opening Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against VfB Stuttgart, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany rang the changes at the Letzigrund in Switzerland.

Serge Gnabry captained an experimental starting line-up that survived an early scare when Bayern loanee Jonathan Asp Jensen fired into the side netting.

The defending Bundesliga champions soon found their stride, though, as Gnabry tested Justin Hammel before Karl thundered in a superb long-range drive, just as he had from the bench in the recent friendly win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The 17-year-old winger turned provider soon after, teeing up Kusi-Asare for another classy finish - the Swede's second goal in as many friendly games.

Zurich's Loris Giandomenico halved the deficit with a well-taken finish after the break, but Bayern were unflustered and continued to enjoy the lion's share of possession.

Substitutes Joshua Kimmich and Dayot Upamecano almost combined for a third Bayern goal, but the latter's volley crashed back off the crossbar.

Luis Díaz then went agonisingly close to opening his account for his new club, but couldn't apply the necessary touch to Harry Kane's teasing ball into the centre.

The Colombian, who spurned another presentable opening late on, will have the opportunity to break his duck when Bayern go in search of the first piece of silverware of the 2025/26 season in Stuttgart on Saturday.
