Bundesliga

New Bayern Munich signing Luis Díaz made a successful debut for the club as Bayern Munich overcame Lyon 2-1, thanks to a double from Michael Olise.
Bayern 2-1 Lyon
Goals: 1-0 Olise 53’ (pen.), 2-0 Olise 62’ (assist: Gnabry), 2-1 Rodriguez 83’ (assist: Merah)
After a first half in which neither goalkeeper was really tested, Vincent Kompany decided to make full use of his substitutes bench by making 11 changes.
This meant a debut for new signing Díaz. From the off, the Colombian looked a threat, and he had his opposite number worried every time he got on the ball; so much so that in the 52nd minute, the Colombian was pulled down in the box for a penalty. Olise stepped up and converted the spot-kick.
Just ten minutes later, Olise doubled the scoring after being fed through by Serge Gnabry as Bayern's substitutes made a lively start.
Just a few minutes from time, Lyon pulled one, but the visitors never looked likely to level. Instead, Díaz once more came close, having had two earlier efforts well-saved by the Lyon goalkeepers, but unfortunately for the Colombian, he was thwarted once more.

As it happened!
For a third time since coming on, Díaz is denied by a Lyon goalkeeper. Gnabry once again slips him in down the left, but the Colombian can't steer it home.
Kimmich plays a short corner to Olise, but the Frenchman makes a real mess of things, allowing Lyon to counter. Gomes Rodríguez is slipped in behind, and the youngster manages to slot home past Urbig whilst under pressure. Game back on.
Lyon take the opportunity to make a few more subs for the final ten minutes.
The Swede is slipped in against the Lyon goalkeeper, but his effort is dealt with by a big hand from the substitute stopper.
The Georgian striker has looked the most likely for the visitors, and this is the closest he has come to scoring. He nips inside Tah and strikes one with his left that hits the post and bounces away.
After keeping substitutes to a relative minimum at half-time, Lyon have decided to make a few more changes now, including a replacement in goal.
Just a couple of minutes after making a great save, the young goalkeeper gets the ball stuck under his feet and almost loses out to a Lyon attacker. That was very close.
Díaz again has the beating of his man on the left. He gets to the byline before pulling it back to Gnabry, who scuffs his shot wide from just a few metres out.
Mikautadze feeds through Kumbedi, but Urbig makes himself big to make a superb stop from close range.
Gnabry feeds the Colombian again, but once more the Colombian is thwarted by the gloves of Descamps. A great save from the Lyon goalkeeper.
Olise dips inside and tries to curl one into the far corner. Unfortunately for the Frenchman, Gnabry unintentionally blocks the shot.
The 11 new bodies on the pitch for Bayern are playing with real intent, and the ball is being moved around with a bit more snap. Olise, in particular, has looked a cut above the rest since coming on.
The Colombian is fed through on the left. He beats his man and hits one with his left foot, but the Lyon goalkeeper gets out well to make a big save.
Just the 11 changes for Bayern at half-time as the entire starting XI is replaced. The big news there, though, is that Díaz is making his first Bayern appearance. The other players to join the action for the record champions are Urbig, Tah, Kiala, Stanišić, Kimmich, Olise, Laimer, Santos Daiber, Gnabry, Díaz and Kusi-Asare.
The referee brings the half to a close.
Mikautadze picks up a loose ball in the Bayern half before driving forward and striking one, but again the effort fades narrowly wide.
Kane goes down under pressure from his man in the box, but the referee decides it is, in fact, the Englishman who is fouling his man and not the other way around and a Lyon free-kick is given.
Since that Goretzka injury, the game has lost a little intensity as the players try to find their rhythm once more. Lyon are attempting to play out from the back, but the Bayern press has certainly caused problems. When Lyon break the press, though, there is a lot of space to run at the Bayern defence.
This is the last thing Bayern want after Pavlović was ruled out earlier today with an injury to his eye socket. Goretzka seems to have suffered a blow to the head, but so far, he seems okay to continue.
Tolisso tries to grab a goal against his former club, but his effort flies wide of the target from range.
Again, Lyon look to spring a counter. This time, it is Mikautadze who breaks forward at pace before feeding Moreira. The Portuguese dips inside and shoots, but it is comfortable for Neuer.
Lyon attempt to play the ball out from the back, but Coman pounces on a loose touch. Unfortunately for the Frenchman, the Lyon defenders recover in time to block his shot.
Moreira picks up the ball on the left and runs at Kim before curling an effort narrowly wide of the far post. That was better from the visitors.
Wanner wins a free-kick on the edge of the Lyon box, but his effort is far too high to test the goalkeeper.
Coman and Guerreiro combine well down the left before the latter dinks a delightful ball to the backpost where Karl is waiting. He catches the ball sweetly on the volley, but his effort goes just wide.
As perhaps expected, it is Bayern who have control of this game in the early stages, but Lyon are looking to break on the counter-attack when they get the chance.
Bayern will be looking to get their pre-season off to a strong start after an extended 24/25 campaign at the Club World Cup.
Almost time for Bayern to get their pre-season under way.
Unfortunately, today's game faces an unexpected delay of 10 minutes after the Bayern players arrived late to the ground. The new kick-off time will be 15:40 CEST.
