Harry Kane's latest hat-trick for Bayern bodes well if the Bundesliga leaders can take their domestic form into the UEFA Champions League with a big three points at stake at home to Paris Saint-German this Tuesday (kick-off: 9pm CET).

Bayern are loving life in the Bundesliga this season under new boss Vincent Kompany, sat at the top of the table on 29 points, six clear of second and with the best offensive and defensive records in the division. Their form in the Champions League hasn't quite been as sublime, however. A record 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb on Matchday 1 sent out warnings to the rest of Europe, but back-to-back defeats away at Aston Villa and then Barcelona left Bayern languishing in the early league phase. A 1-0 home victory over Benfica last time out lifted them back up into the play-off positions and very much still in the hunt for an automatic place in the last 16. They will be without João Palhinha, who sustained an injury over the international break, alongside the likes of Aleksandar Pavlović and Hiroki Ito who are both recovering from long-term injuries. However, they are coming off the back of five consecutive victories in the Bundesliga, including their most recent outing against Augsburg, in which Kane grabbed yet another hat-trick and reached 50 Bundesliga goals.
PSG travel over the border from France to Munich in similar circumstances to their German counterparts. They too sit at the top of their domestic league, but have not had things go their own way in the Champions League this season. They are currently as far down as 25th place, just inside the elimination places. They are without a win since the opening matchday, when they took a tentative 1-0 victory over debutants Girona. Since then, they've lost 2-0 away at Arsenal, drawn 1-1 at home with PSV Eindhoven and lost 2-1 at home to Atletico Madrid. Like Bayern, they come into this game off the back of five consecutive wins in Ligue 1, so Luis Enrique's side will be desperate to prove a point at the Allianz Arena. Two former Eintracht Frankfurt players could feature for PSG in Randal Kolo Muani and Willian Pacho, while former Borussia Dortmund striker Ousmane Dembélé is expected to start in attack.

All but one of the last five meetings have ended favourably for Bayern, as they won four of those meetings while losing the other. The most recent of those victories came in the 2022/23 season, when goals from Eric-Maxim Choup-Moting and Serge Gnabry saw them on their way to a 2-0 victory.
Bayern will hope to make it two wins in a row for the first time this season in the Champions League when they face PSG. So far, their two wins in the competition have been separated by two consecutive defeats, against Aston Villa and Barcelona respectively.
Harry Kane scored yet another hat-tick as Bayern cruised to victory over local rivals Augsburg.
In the last 13 meetings between these sides in UEFA competition, a game has never ended in a draw. Bayern have the advantage, having won seven to PSG's six. Can PSG level the scores on their trip to the Allianz?
PSG are 24th in the 36-team league table, with four points from a possible 12. They started with a 1-0 win over Girona, but have since lost to Arsenal and Atlético Madrid, either side of a 1-1 draw with PSV Eindhoven.
