Serge Gnabry doesn't for one minute think he is the finished article, despite claiming Bayern Munich's Player of the Season award for 2018/19.
Gnabry, 23, was a runaway success in his debut season at Bayern, with his 10-goal hauled bettered at the club only by the Bundesliga's record foreign-born marksman Robert Lewandowski.
He also produced five assists in his 30 league appearances and netted three goals in the DFB Cup as the record champions won a domestic double.
Despite that impressive return, the Germany international has told media there is room for improvement on all fronts.
"Last season, I had to get used to a new club, where there's always the pressure to succeed, and to new players. We also played in the Champions League, which was new to me, too," Gnabry said.
"Of course you reflect on your own performances, but I've tried not to think too much about certain things.
"It starts all over for me [now]. I want to improve - in all areas."
Watch: Serge Gnabry under the tactical microscope
Gnabry has been doing just that ever since he left English Premier League outfit Arsenal for Werder Bremen in 2016.
He currently ranks as only the third player in Bundesliga history to have hit double figures for three different clubs in consecutive seasons (11 for Werder in 2016/17, 10 while on loan at Hoffenheim in 2017/18, and another 10 for Bayern last term), and is now a regular in attack for Germany.
What is more, Bayern collected more points and averaged more goals with the former VfB Stuttgart academy player in the side than without, which only serves to highlight his role in pegging back Borussia Dortmund - turning a nine-point deficit in December into a two-point advantage in May - en route to claiming an eighth successive Bundesliga title on the final day of 2018/19.
"It doesn't get much tighter, with the title going down to the final day," Gnabry recalled. "But we shouldn't be making mistakes and having to rely on what Dortmund do. We have to win our games.
"Even so, it was a successful season for us. We won two titles - nobody can take that away from us.
"We lost to Liverpool in the Champions League, and they went on to win it, so there's nothing really to complain about there.
"I think we can hang with them, and that's what we'll do again this season."
