Bayern Munich face an anxious wait over the fitness of winger Serge Gnabry after the Germany international pulled up with Achilles tendon issues at the defending champions' winter training camp in Doha, Qatar.
Gnabry was unable to take part in team training at the Aspire Academy on Sunday, and instead spent around 30 minutes working with the Bayern physios.
"We had running practice this morning, and that's when he had to stop," interim coach Hansi Flick told media. "He has Achilles tendon problems. We have to treat it very, very seriously, and hope to have him back soon."
Gnabry was one of the stars of Bayern's 2018/19 Bundesliga and DFB Cup double win, his 13 goals and nine assists in all competitions earning him the club's Player of the Season award. The 24-year-old continues to impress, with 11 goals and eight assists to show for his 22 first-team appearances of the current campaign.
Gnabry has also become Joachim Löw's first-choice forward for Germany, having hit 10 goals in his last 10 internationals for the four-time world champions, including a hat-trick against Northern Ireland that ensured top spot in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying Group C.

Bayern, who will spend 10 days in Doha, are already without top scorer Robert Lewandowski (groin), winger Kingsley Coman (knee), midfielder Javi Martinez (thigh) and centre-back Niklas Süle (anterior cruciate ligament). The quartet have remained in Munich to continue their rehabilitation at the club's Säbener Straße training base.
In better news, defender Lucas Hernandez is on the mend. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has been out for roughly two-and-a-half months following ankle surgery, but travelled to the Persian Gulf, where he has been able to take part in light fitness and conditioning exercises.
Bayern face Bundesliga 2 club Nuremberg in a mid-season friendly on 11 January, before resuming their title defence with a trip to Hertha Berlin eight days later.
Flick's men trail Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig by four points in third at the halfway stage. The Bavarian giants are chasing a record-extending eighth successive league crown, and 29th of the Bundesliga era.
