Bayern Munich have signed highly rated teenagers Jamal Musiala and Bright Arrey-Mbi from Chelsea.

Musiala and Arrey-Mbi are the latest teenagers to leave England for Germany in recent years - the most high-profile example being Borussia Dortmund breakout star Jadon Sancho.

The 16-year-olds will initially join record champions Bayern's state-of-the-art youth academy, the FC Bayern Campus.

“With Jamal and Bright we’ve secured two hopeful talents for our youth teams,” said Jochen Sauer, head of the FC Bayern Campus. “We’re convinced of their qualities and their potential for development and hope they settle in quickly to life at the Campus.”

Stuttgart-born Musiala moved to Chelsea from TSV Lehnerz in 2011. He was capped by the England U15s at the age of 13 and has since made nine appearances for the U16s, scoring three goals and assisting two. The teenaged prospect also represented Germany's U16s twice in October 2018.

Although a No.10 by trade, Musiala has played as a striker. He made three appearances for Chelsea in the U18 English Premier League last season and will join the FCB U17 team under coach Miroslav Klose.

Attacking midfielder Musiala (l.) has also featured for both England and Germany at youth level ahead of returning to the country of his birth with Bayern.

Born in Kaarst, near Dusseldorf, Arrey-Mbi represented England at U15 level before switching his allegiance to Germany at U16, where he has won five caps.

The centre-back spent five years at Chelsea since joining from Norwich City and made his debut in the U18 English Premier League at the age of 15 for the club's title-winning side in 2017/18 before playing seven further games while on trial for West Ham United, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2018/19. He will at first join up with Bayern's U19 squad under new coach Martin Demichelis.
