Bayern Munich have completed the signing of French right-back Sacha Boey from Turkish champions Galatasaray.
Boey, 23, has penned a four-and-a-half-year contract with Germany's record champions through to 30 June 2028.
The deal comes at a time when Bayern are without injured trio Joshua Kimmich, Konrad Laimer and Dayot Upamecano, while Minjae Kim and Noussair Mazraoui are also absent due to respective Africa Cup of Nations and Asian Cup commitments.
“This is a dream come true for me," Boey told the official Bayern website. "It’s an honour for me to get to play for such a big club like Bayern. I’m really looking forward to my new team and getting to play with all these great players in the future. As a player, I’m a defender who likes to attack, just as happy being involved up front as in defence.”
Boey faced Bayern earlier this season in a pair of UEFA Champions League group-stage defeats. He also made 19 Süper Lig starts before switching to the Bundesliga's most successful club, scoring once domestically and in one of his 12 European assignments (six qualifiers).
All told, the Frenchman managed four goal contributions across 83 appearances spanning a two-and-a-half-year stint at Galatasaray, winning the league title in 2022/23. The former France youth international - capped up to U20 level - previously played in his homeland with Rennes and Dijon.
"Sacha is a very quick and physically strong right-back, who covers a lot of ground in every game and doesn’t shy away from any tackles," added Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund.
"He was a fan favourite at Galatasaray, has developed very well down the years, arrives with Champions League experience and won the league title with Galatasaray last season. He will increase our quality in defence.”
Boey could make his Bundesliga debut on Matchday 20, when Bayern face Borussia Mönchengladbach. The defending champions are second in the current Bundesliga standings, two points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Thomas Tuchel's team face Italy's Lazio in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on 14 February.
