Bayern line up summer friendlies with Manchester City and Liverpool

Thomas Tuchel's men will be in Asia from 24 July to 3 August as part of their Audi Summer Tour. Their first game is scheduled against City on 26 July at Tokyo's National Stadium, where they will also face J1 League side Kawasaki Frontale on 29 July. The Bavarian giants will then head to Singapore, taking on Liverpool at the National Stadium on 2 August.

While Bayern visited Singapore on their last pre-season tour to Asia in 2017, this will be their first trip to Japan since 2008. The games in Tokyo - which follow a training camp in Tegernsee, just outside Munich - are being organised jointly with SPTV, the Bundesliga’s Japanese media partner, and the DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga).

Speaking after the announcement of the training camp and tour, then Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn said, "FC Bayern is always conscious of its roots in Bavaria and Munich, and it's part of the club's tradition that we regularly prepare for the new season at Tegernsee.

"At the same time, we want to give our fans around the world the opportunity to see our players in the flesh. We're looking forward to this year’s Audi Summer Tour in Asia."

Andreas Jung, the club's board member for marketing, added, "Bayern has a huge fan base in Asia, which is constantly growing. We want to build the enthusiasm for our sport in the region and give people there an exciting show with our team."
