Bayern picked up a 2-1 victory in Seoul a week prior to a second meeting between these sides at the eye-catching Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With a new Bundesliga season and an opening top-flight game against Wolfsburg coming rapidly into view, coach Vincent Kompany was keen for a victorious friendly repeat here. His side were soon up against it, however, with Spurs' Dejan Kulusevski taking advantage of a lapse in concentration in the Bayern defence in the opening minute. Undeterred, the Bavarian giants responded and they were soon on terms, Upamecano bundling home following some good work from Mathys Tel. Gnabry's top performance in the English capital was rewarded with a goal just after the half-hour mark, an unstoppable shot to the corner coming after some solid work by Jamal Musiala and Müller. Indeed, Müller was there again before the break to head in at the back post as the visitors surged into a 3-1 lead.
A plethora of changes at the interval took the flow out of proceedings somewhat but after Bayern found their feet once more, Gnabry was denied by a solid Guglielmo Vicario stop. The save lifted Spurs and they were back in the contest thanks to Kulusevski's second soon afterwards. Yet that was as good as it got for the home side, whose fans afforded returning great Kane rapturous applause as England's record goalscorer got back in action for Bayern following an extended break. The No.9 - who took the captain's armband when coming on late in the second half - twice went close as he looked to quickly find his groove. After helping his side see out this morale-boosting win that had the victors raising the Visit Malta Cup, Kane and Bayern will have more chances to impress with a game against Tirol in Unterhaching on Tuesday.
