Bayern Munich have got their 2025/26 campaign off to a near perfect start after 13 games, winning 12 and boasting a huge goal difference of +40. Is it the best record ever at this stage? And what are the targets to beat throughout the campaign?
Vincent Kompany’s team became only the second in history to have won their opening nine matches of a Bundesliga season – after Pep Guardiola's Bayern class of 2025/26 – but their goal difference of +29 made it the outright best start.

However, after they were held to a 2-2 draw at Union Berlin, the record for longest winning run to begin a season in Germany’s top flight remained at 10 games, set by Guardiola’s aforementioned team of 2015/16 before they drew their 11th fixture.
Kompany's men have got back to winning ways since, though, and have again taken the record on goal difference.
They are tied on 37 points with Guardiola's side, ahead of the Bayern class of 2023/24 and also the only team to complete a Bundesliga season without defeat, Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen in that same season, on 35 each..
The all-time points record stands at 91 by Jupp Heynckes’ treble winners of 2012/13. The goals record of 101 came from Bayern’s class of 1971/72.
