Dortmund to appoint Marco Rose as head coach
Marco Rose has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund as head coach, the Borussia Mönchengladbach man replacing Edin Terzic at the Signal Iduna Park this summer.
Leipzig native Rose joined Gladbach from Red Bull Salzburg in 2019, having led RB's sister club to back-to-back Austrian Bundesliga titles, the latter part of a domestic double alongside the Austrian Cup.
The 44-year-old led the Foals to a fourth-placed finish last season, returning the club to the UEFA Champions League group stages after a four-year hiatus. Level on points with Dortmund this term, Gladbach beat BVB 4-2 under Rose's guidance in their most recent meeting in January.
The appointment is likely to please BVB's top scorer Erling Haaland, who was handed his Salzburg debut by Rose in 2019 and scored 29 goals in just 27 games for the club before beating his coach to the Signal Iduna Park by a season and a half.
Terzic succeeded Lucien Favre as interim Dortmund coach in December. His record with BVB's first team stands at 12 games played, six won, two drawn and four - including the Gladbach reverse - lost.
