Gladbach part ways with Daniel Farke

Farke's Gladbach enjoyed some impressive wins over the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in 2022/23, but finished 10th in the final standings, seven points adrift of the European qualification places, whilst exiting the DFB Cup in the second round.

Assistant coaches Edmund Riemer, Christopher John and Chris Domogalla have also left the club.

"After intensive talks, we came to the decision with Daniel Farke to go our separate ways," explained Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus. "We would like to thank Daniel and his team for all their work."

Farke, who replaced Adi Hütter last summer, oversaw 36 matches in all competitions. The former Dortmund reserves, Norwich City and Krasnodar boss won 12 of them, drawing 10 and losing 14.

The 46-year-old was the Rhineland club's sixth coach in the last eight years, following Lucien Favre's 2011-2015 tenure that brought UEFA Champions League football to Borussia-Park for the first time.

Five-time Bundesliga winners Gladbach have yet to announce details of his successor.
