Borussia Mönchengladbach have confirmed the signing of highly-rated 19-year-old French midfielder Kouadio 'Manu' Kone from Toulouse.
The Foals have penned Kone to a four-year deal - with Kone being loaned back to Toulouse for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign - having beaten a number of European clubs to the signature of the France U19 international central midfielder.
"Kouadio Kone is a really interesting player, who we have been following for some time now for the French youth national teams and his club FC Toulouse," said Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl. "He's a huge talent who has been monitored by top clubs from across Europe. We're delighted that he has chosen to join Borussia Mönchengladbach and the Bundesliga."
Kone broke into the Toulouse first-team last season as the club was relegated from the Ligue 1 in France. In 2020/21 so far, the 6'0" tall midfielder has become a set part of the club's first-team squad in Ligue 2 despite being only 19.
"I'm really happy to be here," Kone said sharing his excitement. "I was really interested to join Borussia. I think I can develop a lot here and want to learn a lot."
In joining Gladbach, Kone will link up with fellow Frenchman Alassane Plea and Marcus Thuram, who have both gone on to make their debuts for the France national team since moving to the Bundesliga and Borussia-Park.
