Who will the eight Bundesliga clubs meet in Europe?
Bayern Munich face a reunion with Robert Lewandowski and Barcelona; UEFA Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt are in with Tottenham Hotspur; RB Leipzig go up against holders Real Madrid; Borussia Dortmund get reacquainted with Erling Haaland; and Bayer Leverkusen take on Atletico Madrid in the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League group stage.

Germany’s most successful club are on the hunt for their seventh European crown, and third Champions League title a decade on from their first treble. A meeting with former striker Lewandowski is the pick of the fixtures in Group C.
Group C: BAYERN MUNICH, Barcelona, Inter Milan & Viktoria Plzen

Eintracht were European Cup runners-up in 1960, but this is the first time they’ll appear in the Champions League. Although they finished 11th in the Bundesliga, they enjoyed an unbeaten run to the Europa League title in Seville, accounting for the likes of Barcelona and West Ham United.
Group D: EINTRACHT FRANKFURT, Tottenham Hotspur, Sporting Lisbon & Marseille
Leipzig came agonisingly close to joining Frankfurt in the Europa League final, falling at the semi-final hurdle, having previously also made it to the Champions League final four in 2019/20. Ties don't come much bigger than Holders Real, but they have taken out heavyweights such as Atletico Madrid and Manchester United before.
Group F: Real Madrid, RB LEIPZIG, Shakhtar Donetsk & Celtic

The 1997 Champions League winners are preparing for a historic campaign as a UEFA regulation change to allow standing in stadiums means we will finally get to see the full might of an 81,000 crowd at the Signal Iduna Park in Europe, instead of the reduced 65,000. Haaland and ex-Bayern coach Pep Guardiola know the venue all too well.
Group G: Manchester City, Sevilla, BORUSSIA DORTMUND & Copenhagen

The 2001/02 Champions League runners-up are back in the competition, after spending the last two seasons in the Europa League, thanks to their third-place Bundesliga finish last term. Die Werkself are a familiar face in Europe, having also won the UEFA Cup in 1988, and will fancy their chances in Group B.
Group B: Porto, Atletico Madrid, BAYER LEVERKUSEN & Club Brugge

Group schedule
UEFA will release the confirmed schedule for the group games after the draws for the UEFA Europa League and Europa Conference Leagues, which include Freiburg, Union Berlin and Cologne, on Friday.
The fixtures will be played on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with two games kicking off at 6.55pm CEST each day and the remaining matches at 9pm. The dates for the matchdays are as follows:
- Matchday 1: 6/7 September
- Matchday 2: 13/14 September
- Matchday 3: 4/5 October
- Matchday 4: 11/12 October
- Matchday 5: 25/26 October
- Matchday 6: 1/2 November
The draw for the first knockout round is then scheduled for 7 November, before the action resumes in February. The final is set to be held at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on 10 June 2023.
UEFA Europa League
Group D: Braga, Malmo, Union Berlin, St. Gilloise
Group G: Olympiacos, Qarabag, Freiburg, Nantes
UEFA Europa Conference League
Group D: Partizan Belgrade, Cologne, Nice, Slovacko
Matchdays in these two competitions will be played on the Thursday after the respective Champions League fixtures. The Europa League final will be held at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on 31 May 2023. The Conference League final is at the Fortuna Arena in Prague on 7 June 2023.
