Cologne have signed right-back Sebastian Sebulonsen from Brondby as they gear up for their return to the Bundesliga.
Sebulonsen joins on a three-year contract through to the end of 2027/28 after completing his medical on Thursday.
“We’re delighted that we now have double cover at right-back with Sebastian. He comes with a strong athletic profile, fulfilling our requirements for a physically robust and versatile player. His qualities and development potential make him a valuable addition to our team,” said Cologne's sporting director Thomas Kessler.
The 25-year-old made 77 competitive appearances for Danish giants Brondby, including eight in Europe in UEFA Conference League qualifiers. He came through at hometown club Sola in Norway and made his senior debut aged 16 before a two-year spell on the books at Viking prior to his 2022 move to Denmark.
Sebulonsen has represented Norway up to U21 level, earning the last of his 14 youth caps in 2022.
“I’m really happy to be here. My teammates who’ve already played in Germany have only told me good things about Cologne,” the defender said of his transfer.
“I can hardly wait to wear the shirt for the first time and play in the RheinEnergieStadion. I want to help Cologne achieve their goals as best as possible with my play.”
The Billy Goats return to the top flight having bounced straight back from their 2023 relegation by winning Bundesliga 2. Sebulonsen is their sixth acquisition of the summer after experienced goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler, striker Ragnar Ache, winger Jakub Kamiński and central midfielders Tom Krauß and Ísak Jóhannesson.
