Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz has joined promoted side Hamburg on loan for the 2025/26 season.

Peretz has agreed a one-year deal at HSV, who are back in the Bundesliga for the first time since being relegated in 2018.

"For me, there's no time to lose. I can hardly wait to get started and get involved in my first team training session tomorrow," explained Peretz.

"I'm really honoured that I have the chance to be part of this massive club. Our main goal is clear – we want to stay up. I want to play my part as an absolute team player and make the fans happy."

Peretz now 25, arrived in Munich from Maccabi Tel Aviv in his native Israel in August 2023, but has been limited to just four Bundesliga appearances and one in the DFB Cup owing to the on-going form of Manuel Neuer. He has also fallen behind Jonas Urbig in the pecking order.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund hopes Peretz will find more first-team opportunities at Hamburg, where the Israeli international will compete with promotion-winning No.1 Daniel Heuer Fernandes for regular minutes.

"Daniel has constantly improved over the last two years at FC Bayern. We're very satisfied with him," he explained.

"He has really good skills and an outstanding character, we can always rely on him in our goalkeeping team around Manuel Neuer. Now we want him to gain more experience and a lot of Bundesliga minutes at Hamburg."
