Jan Thielmann cancelled out a Daichi Kamada goal as Cologne rescued a point away to Eintracht Frankfurt, who are now winless in 11 Bundesliga matches.
Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Cologne
Goals: 1-0 Kamada 71', 1-1 Thielmann 82'
Frankfurt's Colombian striker Rafael Borre drew a routine save from Marwin Schwäbe following a teasing run by Bundesliga debutant Luca Pellegrini. It was the roving Italian who was next to try his luck with a fierce shot from distance that pinged wide of Schwäbe's left-hand post. Cologne captain Jonas Hector sent a speculative effort wide, before Kevin Trapp was made to work for the first time. The Yashin Trophy nominee was at full stretch to get finger-tips to a low strike from a tight angle from Sargis Adamyan.
Cologne substitute Thielmann was denied at the near post by Trapp, though the flag was up for offside. Timo Hübers then got in the way of a Randal Kolo Muani effort on goal, but there was no stopping Kamada's opener. The Japan international had barely been on the pitch two minutes when he whipped over a free-kick from the left that took a nick off a defender on its way past Schwäbe. Lucas Alario drove over soon after, before Thielmann lashed in an 18-yard volley to level. Schwäbe foiled Kristijan Jakic as the contest ended all square.
