Frankfurt and Kolo Muani haunt Hoffenheim

Randal Kolo Muani starred again as Eintracht Frankfurt breezed past Hoffenheim to climb to fourth in the standings.

Eintracht Frankfurt 4-2 Hoffenheim
Goals: 1-0 Sow 6', 2-0 Kolo Muani 8', 3-0 Ebimbe 29' (assist: Kolo Muani), 3-1 Baumgartner 38' (assist: Kabak), 3-2 Kabak 46', 4-2 Lindstrom 56' (assist: Kolo Muani)

Away from home, Eintracht have been a force to be reckoned with this term. The division's third best team on the road, the Eagles were failing to hit the same heights at Deutsche Bank Park. That was until Hoffenheim rolled into town. Any hopes Andre Breitenreiter's men had of improving on a record of just one win in their previous seven games were blown out of the water in the opening stages here. After six minutes, Eduardo Quaresma gave up possession on the flank and the hosts pounced. Daichi Kamada stumbled, but the ball still made it through to Djibril Sow who fired through Oliver Baumann for 1-0. Moments later, Kolo Muani slotted in his fourth of the season when Baumann could only block Jesper Lindstrom's powerful shot. Kolo Muani then turned provider, the on-fire France attacker's lay-off may have been meant for Mario Götze, but it found its way to Eric Dina Ebimbe, who beat the beleaguered Baumann at his near post. When the visitors finally came up for air, Christoph Baumgartner headed in Ozan Kabak's assist from close range.

If that goal before the break acted as the smelling salts for the flailing visitors, Kabak's excellent control and strike immediately after the restart had the Sinsheimers back on their feet again. With the men in blue swinging, Frankfurt floored their opponents once more with a counter-attacking sucker punch. It was that man Kolo Muani again, this time making his way into the box and squaring for Lindstrom, who took a touch before firing into the net. The stadium now in full voice, Kamada struck the woodwork before Ebimbe somehow drilled wide from Lindstorm's exquisite back-heeled pass. The Dane made sure there was no let-up for Baumann, who palmed an effort to the far post wide of the upright, and this just after Kolo Muani had a goal ruled out for offside. Looking on from the sidelines, a smiling Oliver Glasner could feel proud of his side, as they impressed their way up to fourth place in the standings.
