July 14: Spain get an extra player

Spain have had a familiar face arrive in Berlin for today's final, Barcelona midfielder Gavi. The 19-year-old has been out of action since November with an ACL injury while playing with his country. He likely would have played in today's final, and De la Fuente commented: "Gavi will be with us, he’s coming to spend all day with us and be our 27th player."

vs

July 14: Redemption for England?

1099 days. That’s how much time has passed since England’s agonising defeat to Italy in the Euro 2020 final, which saw Luke Shaw open the scoring in just the second minute before the Three Lions eventually fell to defeat via a penalty shootout. Can they go one step further this time in Berlin?

vs

13 July: Walker: "We can cope with Yamal and Williams."

"I saw him [Williams] run the other day and I've never seen something so quick. For a 16-year-old to produce what Yamal is producing is outstanding, I wouldn't mind him to have an off game for the next game. But I feel that the defenders that we've got, they can cope with him. Definitely."

vs

12 July: Olmo not intimidated by England support

It's expected that England fans will outnumber Spain's on Sunday, but that is no concern to Olmo. The playmaker said on the subject: "I don't have any idea how many fans there'll be from either side. So long as our fans repeat the great support they've been giving us so far, that'll be just fine."

vs

12 July: Olmo: "Things are working. Why change?"

With a perfect record so far, it's little wonder Olmo thinks his side should stick to what they're doing. "Things are working. Why change?," he said. "We have a unique style, it's going well, it's a strength. Within that you always try to come up with new details, which the coach might suggest. The overall philosophy won't change at all."

The England captain scored his 22nd penalty for his country from 26 attempts in Wednesday's semi-final. He boasts a 100 percent record in the Bundesliga after putting away all five spot-kicks in 2023/24.

1 July: Tedesco believes Belgians well set

Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco is excited ahead of facing France. "We're here to be among the best teams. Now we're facing a top team, which why we qualified. Otherwise we could've stayed at home. They're games we're waiting for, and anything is possible. We can challenge everyone. We're ready," said the ex-Schalke and Leipzig boss.

vs

29 June: Italian defensive concerns

Italy are contesting the opening last 16 tie at 18:00 CEST today against Switzerland, but they will have to do that without the suspended Riccardo Calafiori, while his central defensive partner Alessandro Bastoni is also a doubt after missing Italy's final training session before the match with illness.

vs

29 June: Danish midfield worries

Christian Eriksen and Thomas Delaney both had to sit out Denmark's training on Friday due to illness. Former Dortmund midfielder Delaney had been expected to replace the suspended Morten Hjulmand in the Danish line-up. Coach Kasper Hjulmand has said he expects Eriksen to be fit for action against Germany tonight, but was giving little away about Delaney.

28 June: Bundesliga stars shining

Bundesliga players' outstanding efforts are also showing in the statistics at the end of the group stage. vs

26 June: What's in store?

We've touched upon it already but it's worth confirming today's double-double-header times. Group E's two games will kick-off at 6pm CEST, with Slovakia vs. Romania in Frankfurt and Ukraine vs. Belgium in Stuttgart. Then, at 9pm CEST, Czechia meet Türkiye in Hamburg, while Georgia and Portugal kick-off at the same time, but in Gelsenkirchen.

25 June: Orange Berlin

Meanwhile, over in the capital, the Dutch have provided their usual dose of colour.

vs

25 June: What's coming up today?

We've got a double double-header today as Groups C and D come to a conclusion. We start with the latter in the 6pm kick-offs France and the Netherlands are both on four points and face Poland (already eliminated) in Dortmund and Austria (three points) in Berlin respectively. Then at 9pm, Harry Kane's England (four points) take on Slovenia (two points) in Cologne at the same time as Denmark (four points) play Serbia (one point) in Munich.

vs

25 June: Hope for Hungary?

While Croatia's last-16 hopes now hang by the thinnest of threads, needing two other third-placed teams from the remaining four groups to finish with a record worse than their two points and -3 goal difference, Hungary's chances have been boosted slightly. They finished Group A with three points (-3 GD), meaning they only need to better one of the remaining four third-placed teams.

vs

24 June: Good night for England, France, Netherlands

The results in Group B also had a big impact elsewhere, as Albania's defeat to Spain saw England (Group C), France and the Netherlands (both Group D) guaranteed of a place in the round of 16 as all three will at least be among the four best third-placed teams. All three finish their groups on Tuesday.

vs

24 June: Italy sneak through

Mattia Zaccagni's 98th-minute equaliser flipped the tables late on to send holders Italy through. They will now face Switzerland in Berlin on 29 June in the first of the last-16 fixtures.

vs

23 June: Xhaka looking forward to last 16

"When you concede a goal late on, it hurts more than when you lose 3-0. We performed well defensively and are through to the last 16 and are looking forward to the next opponent."

vs

22 June: Scotland fans visit Darmstadt

Around 30 Scotland supporters joined Darmstadt fan club members to watch a team training session on their way from Cologne to Stuttgart, where the Tartan Army will play their third Group A match against Hungary on Sunday. They also went on a stadium tour. "I think it's great that the fans are making the most of their time here. It's great that they enjoy coming to Germany and getting to know everything here," said Darmstadt head coach Torsten Lieberknecht.

vs

22 June: Business end of the groups

Groups E and F finish today, with plenty at stake as we round out Matchday 2 of the group stage. Defeat for Belgium and either side in the opening game between Georgia and Czechia could spell the end for their tournaments, while Turkey and Portugal go in search of confirming their places in the last-16. All to play for.

vs

21 June: Tierney out of tourney

Some sad news for Scotland fans today, with defender Kieran Tierney out of the competition after picking up a hamstring injury against Switzerland in Germany's Group A.

vs

20 June: Spain qualify for knockout stages

La Roja are through to the last 16, and have also won Group B, after beating Italy 1-0 - defender Riccardo Calafiori's own goal was all that separated the two sides.

vs

20 June: Denmark hold England

Bayern Munich's Harry Kane was one the scoresheet, but England missed out on the chance to book their place in the knockout stages with a 1-1 draw. They now face Slovenia, while Denmark, who had both of Wolfsburg's Joakim Mæhle and Jonas Wind in their side, play Serbia.

vs

20 June: England vs Denmark to be played with roof closed

Heavy raining and lightning is expected in Frankfurt for the Group C clash between England and Denmark, so the Deutsche Bank Park's retractable roof will be closed.

vs

20 June: Mbappé back in training

Despite breaking his nose in France's 1-0 victory over Austria, Kylian Mbappé is already back in training ahead of Les Bleus' clash with the Netherlands on Friday night.
