Jamal Musiala had a hand in two goals as Germany played out a 3-3 draw with England in their final UEFA Nations League Group A3 fixture.
England 3-3 Germany
Goals: 0-1 Gündogan (pen. 52'), 0-2 Havertz 67' (assist: Werner), 1-2 Shaw 77' (assist: James), 2-2 Mount 75' (assist: Saka), 3-2 Kane (pen. 83') 3-3 Havertz (87')
The Nations League finals out of reach following the 1-0 loss to Hungary, Germany head coach Hansi Flick used the opportunity to start Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck and Bayern Munich teenager Musiala, with his team's 2022 FIFA World Cup opener against Japan less than two months away. A familiar face to both players lined up in the red of England in the form of BVB midfielder Jude Bellingham, who was kept on his toes throughout a competitive first half by Bayern's Joshua Kimmich and ex-Dortmund man Ilkay Gündogan. Germany enjoyed more of the ball for long periods, but were almost undone in the 24th minute. Luke Shaw sent Raheem Sterling in behind, only for Marc-Andre ter Stegen - deputising for Manuel Neuer - to make a superb block. England captain Harry Kane sent a Marco van Basten-esque volley over from the second of the ensuing corners.
Kimmich served notice of Germany's intentions with a shot that sailed narrowly wide at the end of the first half. Within the space of 15 second-half minutes, the four-time world champions were 2-0 up. Gündogan broke the deadlock from the penalty spot, after a VAR review indicated Harry Maguire had obstructed Musiala. Having danced his way through to set up substitute Timo Werner for a shot across goal moments earlier, the Bayern youngester then kick-started the move that produced his country's second - a fabulous 18-yard strike from Kai Havertz. In a furious finale, Luke Shaw bundled in for 2-1 and Mason Mount swept in an equaliser. England thought they'd won it when Kane converted a penalty - awarded by VAR for Schlotterbeck's foul on Bellingham - but Havertz had the final say, tapping home after Nick Pope failed to keep hold of substitute Serge Gnabry's fierce strike from range.

As it happened
A barnstorming game of football comes to an end in London. Germany led 2-0, but found themselves 3-2 down with three to go, when Havertz completed his brace. Food for thought ahead of the World Cup for Hansi Flick - his team only won once in this Nations League campaign. Musiala and Raum were excellent, though. Next stop, Qatar!
SIX minutes for either side to find a winner...
Saka runs clear. He's into the box, but his low shot across goal is tipped around the post by ter Stegen.
And it's a gift! Gosens does really well to keep the ball on the left and find Gnabry. He looks up and drives a fierce strike goalwards. Pope spills it and Havertz tucks it in from close range. What a half!
Germany went 13 matches unbeaten under Flick - are they heading for a second straight defeat?
Ter Stegen goes his best to put off the England captain, but that is a superb penalty. He thunders the ball into the top corner.
Kane fires into the side netting following great work by Saka. Then comes a review for a possible Schlotterbeck foul on Bellingham. He clearly caught him on the ankle, as the VAR confirms.
Good news for Maguire as Musiala makes way, though Müller won't be any easier to mark.
Germany don't pick up Saka, who has the time to find Mount on the edge of the area. He gets the ball out from under his feet and beats ter Stegen with a precision finish.
Germany are caught out by a ball from the right. Shaw controls James' pass on his chest, before driving under ter Stegen.
Germany double their lead. Musiala is the catalyst, picking the pockets of Maguire in the Germany half. He sends Werner on his way, who patiently awaits an avenue in on goal. Havertz provides it to his right. He takes a touch and arcs a stunning effort into the top scorer from 18 yards.
Schlotterbeck puts himself in the way of a James cross at the near post. He's been brilliant tonight.
Winning possession in central midfield, Musiala proceeds to dance his way through the England ranks. He jinks past at least three players, before bending a brilliant pass into the path of Werner. It's on his weaker left side, though, and he drags just wide.
Werner takes advantage of a mistake by Rice. He could go for goal himself, but opts to cut the ball back. With Havertz ready to sweep home from six yards, a red shirt gets a leg in to clear.
The Dortmund teen with one of those late runs from deep. He shoots first time as the ball's rolled across the Germany box - over!
Pope goes the right way, but there's no stopping penalties like that - short run-up and right into the bottom corner.
Easy decision for the referee to make...
The referee goes to the pitch-side mointor to review a clumsy challenge from Maguire on Musiala...
Sterling fashions another shooting opportunity, but ter Stegen makes a routine stop.
Werner, who has more goals than any Germany player under Flick (eight), will go into the lone striker's role, with Havertz dropping back into attacking midfield.
Sterling's effor that ter Stegen did so well to keep out is the closest either side have come to scoring. Raum has been excellent at left-back, Hofmann's got forward on the opposite side and Musiala's had his moments, but Flick's team need more oomph in the final third.
Germany play keep-ball, before Kimmich pings one from range through the legs of a defender and just wide of Pope's right-hand post.
Into the first of two added minutes...
Opportunity for England as Kane slips Sterling into the box. Schlotterbeck races back to unsettle the Chelsea man, though, and the eventual shot is straight at ter Stegen.
Gündogan concedes another free-kick for going into the back of Bellingham. The England man was a one-man shield wall just there - he was never going to concede possession without being fouled.
Foden sends in an out-swinging corner. Maguire meets it, sending a header comfortably over. This game needs a spark.
John Stones is down with what looks like a hamstring problem. Kyle Walker is about to come on...
Germany have enjoyed 62 percent of possession so far. It's just that final ball, not helped by the absence of a thoroughbred striker.
England's best spell by a mile as Kehrer is forced to clear ahead of Kane in the six-yard box. The hosts win a couple of corners, the second of which ends with Kane sending a Van Basten-esque volley just wide of the far post.
Shaw plays a superb pass into the path of Sterling, who takes it in his stride and turns Süle. He then tries to place a shot into the bootm corner, but ter Stegen gets down really well to block.
Raum wins back possession deep in the Germany half, and immediately looks to turn defence into attack. Hofmann tears up the right and sends over a ball that Raum tries to direct into the middle for Gündogan, who's beaten to it by a red shirt.
