Jamal Musiala
Club: Bayern Munich
Positional change: Forward -> Midfielder
Value: 15M
Managers despaired at news of Musiala's switch from a Fantasy midfielder to a forward ahead of last season - but the Bayern youngster didn't disappoint. No player in the champions' ranks had a hand in more goals (12 of his own, plus 10 assists), contributing to his bumper 196-point haul in Fantasy land. He's not the secret weapon he once was, but what an asset he is - even more so now stationed back in midfield. And you have to say, the 20-year-old is arguably a more attractive proposition than teammates Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.
Dani Olmo
Club: RB Leipzig
Positional change: Forward -> Midfielder
Value: 14M
It's fair to say Olmo never really got going in 2022/23. Injuries restricted him to just 23 appearances (15 starts), encompassing just two goals and five assists. He ended the season on 88 points, but having rediscovered his best form. Great news for Leipzig, especially given the 298-point Christopher Nkunku's decision to leave the club. Dominik Szoboszlai - who tallied 295 points - is also gone. So, assuming Olmo stays fit, expect him to push as as Leipzig's top-performing midfielder, if not player, of the new season.
Ansgar Knauff
Club: Eintracht Frankfurt
Positional change: Forward -> Midfielder
Value: 8M
Knauff was far from the thoughts of Fantasy managers in 2022/23. The former Borussia Dortmund youngster averaged four percent ownership as a forward, with Randal Kolo Muani the go-to guy in Frankfurt colours. Sixty points from 24 games is hardly a tally to write home about, but don't let that deter you. Frankfurt have a new coach in Dino Toppmöller, who previously worked under Julian Nagelsmann - himself a fan of wingers - and there's at least one vacancy across the midfield following Daichi Kamada's departure. Knauff can also operate as a wing-back, so expect him to be in the side more often than not - just not in attack!
Robert Skov
Club: Hoffenheim
Positional change: Forward -> Midfielder
Value: 7M
Skov's another great alternative to Knauff. The Dane started the majority of Hoffenheim's fixtures prior to the World Cup break, but only two in 2023 due to calf troubles. Not a forward by any stretch, the Denmark international still managed three goals and two assists, all - as with every one of his 24 league outings last term - as a right or left winger. Angelino's return to parent club Leipzig puts Skov back at the front of the queue for a starting berth on the flanks. His dead-ball prowess also gives him the edge over teammates and Fantasy midfield contemporaries alike.
