Two thirds of all teams have Harry Kane in them. Indeed, not starring the Bayern Munich talisman when he's fit to play is almost a guarantee to lose rank.
So, instead of pointing out the well-known points machines, we're here to shine the spotlight on those hidden gems that could help you climb up the table...
Anton Kade (Augsburg), 4.52m
One club, two managers, and five different players used at No.9 so far: so reads Augsburg’s Hinrunde. Anton Kade is the latest to be tried up front, and seized his chance last Saturday, scoring as Die Fuggerstädter secured an upset 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen. Listed as a midfielder – and a cheap one at that – his points were accordingly multiplied for his performance.
Watch: Highlights of Augsburg’s win over Leverkusen
Anthony Jung (Freiburg), 2.43m
Philipp Lienhart and his replacement Max Rosenfelder were both subbed off with injury in Freiburg’s 2-1 loss at Heidenheim, with Anthony Jung completing the game at centre-back alongside Matthias Ginter. Lienhart and Rosenfelder remain doubtful for Sunday’s visit of Borussia Dortmund, making Jung one of the cheapest potential starters in Fantasy this weekend.
Raphaël Guerreiro (Bayern), 12.7m
Raphaël Guerreiro has only started three of Bayern Munich’s 13 Bundesliga outings this season, but has made good use of his limited playing time, plundering two goals and two assists. The Portugal international was a late sub in Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Sporting Lisbon, replacing Lennart Karl at No.10. He could get the nod there from the off against Mainz, making him one of the best OOP players in the game.
Watch: Guerreiro’s flair for the spectacular
Samuel Mbangula (Bremen), 4.23m
Samuel Mbangula returned from illness in Werder Bremen’s 3-2 Nordderby loss to Hamburg last Sunday, playing the last few minutes, and should be fit for Sunday’s visit of VfB Stuttgart. The winger has impressed since his summer arrival from Juventus, tallying three goals and three assists from less than 650 minutes across all competitions, making him Bremen’s most potent player, statistically. His 1% ownership also makes him the definition of differential.
Daniel Batz (Mainz), 2.33m
Mainz No.1 Robin Zentner injured his groin at the end of November, opening up a chance for his deputies. Lasse Rieß was first in line, but after letting in four against Freiburg, Daniel Batz has been handed the baton, and impressed in last Friday’s 1-0 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach. He figures to be busy against Bayern – Guerreiro et al – on Sunday, but in Bundesliga Fantasy terms, that’s no bad thing.
