Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of German winger Farid Alfa-Ruprecht from Manchester City.
Alfa-Ruprecht has signed a long-term deal with Leverkusen, after a three-year spell with the Man City youths. The 19-year-old made Pep Guardiola's matchday squad once, but has yet to play senior competitive football.
Leverkusen Sporting Director Simon Rolfes said: "Alfa-Ruprecht made a big impact as a wide player in the English U21 league. A strong goal-scoring record, incredible speed, and great footballing talent make him a highly interesting prospect for our first team."
Meanwhile Director of Football Kim Falkenberg added: "We clearly see the potential in Farid to become an important player for Bayer 04 in the future."
Alfa-Ruprecht made 74 appearances during his time with the Man City U18s and 21s, winning the 2022/23 Premier Youth League and 2023/24 FA Youth Cup. The former Hamburg youngster, who has eight Germany youth caps, registered 22 goals and 14 assists.
He is among several fresh faces at the 2023/24 Bundesliga champions, with Abdoulaye Faye (20), Christian Kofane (18), Jarell Quansah (22), Issa Traoré (17) and Malik Tillman (23) also having made the switch to new head coach Erik ten Hag's team during the summer transfer window.
Alfa-Ruprecht said: "Leverkusen is a top club with great appeal. I will repay the trust placed in me and do everything I can to earn the chance to play in a Bayer jersey."
