Arminia Bielefeld have appointed Red Bull Salzburg youth academy director Frank Kramer as their new head coach, having parted ways with Uwe Neuhaus on Monday.

Kramer was previously part of Germany's youth set-up, coaching their U18, U19 and U20 teams in recent seasons, and Bielefeld are delighted to have secured the 48-year-old on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

"We had convincing discussions with Frank Kramer and are looking forward to the joint task of further developing our team in all areas," said sporting director Samir Arabi.

"Frank is a multi-faceted trainer with a lot of experience in the professional and junior sector. We're convinced that, with his professional and analytical qualities, he's the type of coach who fits the Arminia path and who we need for the next steps in our development."

Kramer - who has already coached Reinhold Yabo and Masaya Okugawa in their periods at Salzburg - will take training for the first time on Tuesday, before overseeing the visit of Union Berlin on Sunday.
