The DFB and their kit partners adidas have unveiled Germany's new threads for 2026. The eye-catching designs, described as "...a tribute to Germany's greatest successes and most legendary kits at FIFA World Cups," will be worn at next summer's finals, should Germany qualify for the footballing extravaganza in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Germany will line out in their new gear for the first time in the FIFA World Cup qualifier away to Luxembourg on 14 November. The kits will also be worn by the nation's women's teams, as well as the DFB youth sides.
"The zigzag pattern is reminiscent of the 1994 design, when the USA first hosted the [the FIFA World Cup]," the DFB explained of their fetching garb.
Meanwhile, national team striker Nick Woltemade, said, "I've rarely found a jersey cooler than our new home kit from adidas. I really like this look; it's so beautifully retro." The former VfB Stuttgart and current Newcastle United FC striker added, "I think it's world-class and I'm looking forward to playing in it soon."
Kit designers adidas, meanwhile, added, "The repeating diamond shape and chevron detailing are each inspired by the iconic graphics from previous shirts, including the 2014 World Cup winning shirt."
Germany have won the FIFA World Cup on four previous occasions, in 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014. Julian Nagelsmann's current challengers lead UEFA qualifying Group A on goal difference ahead of Slovakia. After visiting Luxembourg on 14 November, Germany conclude the group phase against Slovakia in Leipzig three days later.
