Tim Kleindienst has received his maiden call-up to the German national team.

Borussia Mönchengladbach's Tim Kleindienst has received his first Germany call-up as Julian Nagelsmann named his squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Bosnia & Herzegovina and the Netherlands.

The 29-year-old striker was Bundesliga 2's top goalscorer in 2022/23 and scored 12 goals for Heidenheim in the top flight last term. Following a summer move to Gladbach, he has enjoyed a strong start, scoring twice and providing an assist across the first five matchdays.

While Kleindienst picked up 20 caps for Germany's U20s earlier on in his career, he is yet to make his senior bow. His inclusion comes following an injury to Niclas Fullkrüg, who is unavailable for these fixtures as a result.

Elsewhere, uncapped former RB Leipzig goalkeeper Janis Blaswich has been named in the 23-man squad in the absence of Marc-André ter Stegen. He was previously called up in November 2023 but didn't make it onto the field of play.

Reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, led by Florian Wirtz, and 2023/24 UEFA Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund have three apiece.

Germany will travel to Zenica to play Bosnia on 11 October (kick-off: 8.45pm CEST) before hosting the Dutch at the Allianz Arena three days later (kick-off: 8.45pm CEST).
