Germany defeated France on penalties in the FIFA U17 World Cup final to be crowned world champions at that level for the first time.
Borussia Dortmund youngster Paris Brunner opened the scoring with a penalty at the Manahan Stadium in Jakarta before the side's captain, Noah Darvich - who recently moved to Barcelona from Freiburg - made it two.
Saïmon Bouabré pulled one back for France before Mathis Amougou drew the scores level five minutes from time, which meant penalties.
Robert Ramsak, Max Moerstadt, Fayssal Harchaoui and Almugera Kabar scored their spot-kicks as Germany prevailed 4-3 on penalties, adding the world title to the European one they won at this level in June.
Showering praise on Germany's champions after the tournament, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Henrichs said, "I'm very happy for them! I took part in an Under 17 tournament myself which wasn't as successful but I know how much it means and I think the lads will be over the moon."
Borussia Mönchengladbach's Rocco Reitz added, "It was world class. I'm extremelly happy for them, as is the entire country. It's an incredible achievement."
