Hamburg have confirmed the signing of midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga from English Premier League club Arsenal.
The two-time Belgium international, whose contract with the Gunners was set to run out next summer, has signed an undisclosed permanent deal.
"In Sambi, we have signed a midfielder who is equally as talented as he is experienced," said Hamburg board member for sport Stefan Kuntz.
"He’s shown his quality at the highest level over the past few years in the Premier League and in LaLiga and will help our team in build-up play as well as in transition.
"We're over the moon to be able to welcome him to HSV!"
Lokonga, 25, was signed by Arsenal from Anderlecht in 2021 and went on to make 39 appearances for the club across 2021/22 and 2022/23.
He played for Crystal Palace and spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Luton Town during their maiden Premier League campaign, before making 23 appearances in Spain with Seville last season.
Lokonga is HSV's 11th signing of the summer, a group which includes new captain Yussuf Poulsen, Nicolai Remberg and Jordan Torunarigha.
Merlin Polzin will be hoping his new arrival can provide extra solidity in the middle of the park following Hamburg's 2-0 derby defeat to St. Pauli.
Lokonga could make his debut against Bayern Munich after the September international break.
