Harry Kane picked up an injury against Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 6, but is expected to be back in action sooner rather than later.

Harry Kane will have to watch from the stands when England take on Wales in a friendly tonight having picked up a minor ankle injury in Bayern Munich’s recent win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Three Lions’ captain will be available for their FIFA World Cup qualifier with Latvia on Tuesday, however, as Thomas Tuchel confirmed.

"Harry will miss the game, he got a kick in his last match and it is too painful to kick the ball and too risky for him,” said the England boss.

"We‘ll give him the chance for it calm down and we’re convinced he will be ready for Latvia."

Kane will therefore have to wait until next week for the opportunity to add to his international tally of 74 goals in 109 games. The Bayern frontman has eight goals in his last 10 games for his country.

That 3-0 victory over Dino Toppmöller’s Eagles saw Kane hit 11 goals for the season before taking a hit to the ankle, putting him six goals clear of teammate Luis Díaz in the scoring charts.

His goals have helped fire his side to six consecutive wins at the start of this campaign, putting Bayern four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.
