Bundesliga top scorer Harry Kane will be out of action for the time being, having suffered a hamstring injury in his side's 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Harry Kane left the field in the 33rd minute of Bayern Munich's 1-1 Klassiker draw at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. The England striker limped off and was replaced by Thomas Müller, with Bayern now confirming Kane suffered a muscle strain in his right hamstring.

The English marksman left the field shortly after Jamie Gittens had opened the scoring for the hosts, with Bayern managing to rescue a point late on without Kane through Jamal Musiala.

The length of Kane's absence is as yet unknown, with the record champions announcing their leading scorer will be sidelined, "for the time being" with a "minor muscle strain in his right hamstring." The 31-year-old leads the Bundesliga scoring charts with a stunning 14 goals in 12 games plus five assists.

The currrent league leaders next face defending Bundesliga and DFB Cup champions Bayer Leverkusen in Tuesday's Pokal third round tie at the Allianz Arena.
