Harry Kane has started his recovery from his recent hamstring strain.

Bundesliga top scorer Harry Kane has started jogging at Bayern Munich's training ground for the first time since the hamstring injury he sustained in last weekend's Klassiker draw with Borussia Dortmund.

Kane, who leads the Bundesliga scoring charts with a stunning 14 goals in 12 games plus five assists, left the field in the 33rd minute of Bayern's 1-1 Klassiker draw at Dortmund last weekend. The England striker was replaced by Thomas Müller, with Bayern subsequently confirming Kane suffered a muscle strain in his right hamstring.

The length of Kane's absence is as yet unknown, but he did not play against Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB Cup last-16 defeat on Tuesday, while he will be unavailable for this weekend's Bundesliga clash with Heidenheim.

"Things are looking good. I don't want to give a timeline and put our medical team under pressure," Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said on Friday. "It could well be that he plays again this year. But everything needs to go perfectly."

Bayern confirmed on Thursday that Kane was able to run his first laps at the club's training ground since the setback.
