Harry Kane says there is “loads to improve on” and that Bayern Munich “can get better” after the team’s 2-2 draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday 4.
Kane opened the scoring in the seventh minute on Friday, nodding in at the back post from Leroy Sane’s corner for his fourth Bundesliga goal in as many games. He was denied a fifth by a jaw-dropping save from Lukas Hradecky in the second half, before Xabi Alonso’s side struck in stoppage time to snatch a point.
“We started really well, controlled it, controlled possession and created some good chances,” Kane told bundesliga.com after the final whistle.

“They came back in the second half of the first half and we lost our shape a little bit. They exploited that. The second half was back and forth. There’s loads to improve on. We’ll obviously watch it back and see where we can get better for the next games.”
Bayern will certainly have the opportunity to find their groove over the coming weeks, with the Leverkusen draw the first of seven matches in 24 days for Thomas Tuchel’s side. And ahead of facing Manchester United in their first UEFA Champions League assignment of the season on Wednesday, Kane is confident Bayern will go from strength to strength.
“It’s only my fourth game,” the 30-year-old said. “I’m still getting to know everyone and learn how everyone plays. It’s been a busy week obviously with being away [on international duty] and coming straight back into this game, but as the season goes on I’m going to learn more and more with the team and hopefully improve and we can get better.”

That is a daunting prospect for defenders across Germany and Europe, the England captain having hit the net with four of his seven efforts on target so far. Fans have already noted his signature celebration of kissing his wedding ring, and he went on to explain the meaning behind it.
“It's just kind a 'thank you' to my wife and my family who are always supporting me, always watching me,” he said. “Ever since I’ve been married I’ve been doing that, so hopefully there’s a few more to go this year.”
Adding to Bayern’s busy schedule will be their annual visit to the Munich Oktoberfest, which started on Saturday. Kane has never been, although he has already donned the traditional Lederhosen attire, while Bayern wore a special Oktoberfest-inspired kit against Leverkusen.
“Obviously the guys here have been telling me about it, so it’ll be a new experience,” he said.
“I think we’re going next weekend as a team. We’ve got a lot of games coming up, so I don’t think we’ll be able to enjoy it too much, but it’s a great tradition here in Germany and one I’m looking forward to.”
