Harry Kane has been named the Bundesliga Player of the Season. His stellar performances helped propel Bayern Munich to Bundesliga title number 34, the first major club trophy of his career.
Thanks to your votes that helped determine the Bundesliga Team of the Season, Kane has been named the overall Player of the Season. It was another fantastic campaign for the Englishman in a career littered with brilliance, but this one was extra special as Bayern’s No. 9 won his first major club title.
Kane was once again in electric form in front of goal, with his 26 league goals winning him his second successive Torjägerkanone. A trophy that the 31-year-old described as “more meaningful”, given how his goals contributed to the title.
Of course, Kane is about more than just his goals. This season, he contributed eight assists too, bringing his total Bundesliga goal contributions for the season to 34, a number unmatched by anyone else.
When in Bayern’s starting line-up this term, the Bavarians have won 22 times, drawn six and never lost. Without him, there have been three wins, one draw and three defeats.
Kane has also scored the goal to put Bayern 1-0 up on 10 occasions this season, and whenever Kane has scored, the champions have gone on to win the game. He also boasts a sensational record of scoring a goal every 92 minutes this campaign.
The Englishman will also have the chance to add one more trophy to his cabinet this summer when Bayern take part in the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in the USA; a competition the German giants are amongst the favourites to win.
