Harry Kane hit a hat-trick and Jamal Musiala scored within seconds of kick-off as Bayern Munich proved too strong for promoted side Holstein Kiel.
Holstein Kiel 1-6 Bayern Munich
Goals: 0-1 Musiala 1' (assist: Kane), 0-2 Kane 7' (assist: Gnabry), 0-3 Remberg (o.g. 13'), 0-4 Kane 43' (assist: Coman), 0-5 Olise 65' (assist: Davies), 1-5 Gigović 82' (assist: Puchacz), 1-6 Kane (pen. 90'+1)
The match began with an explosive start that set the tone for the entire game. Just 15 seconds after kick-off, Musiala stunned the home crowd by firing Bayern into the lead, capitalising on a defensive mix-up to coolly slot home. The early goal seemed to rattle Kiel, and Bayern wasted no time in doubling their advantage. Kane doubled Bayern's lead shortly afterwards with an emphatic finish following another defensive mistake, and Kiel's nightmare start was compounded in the 13th minute when Nicolai Remberg inadvertently turned the ball into his own net. Kane made it 4-0 just before the interval to effectively end the game as a contest.
The second-half began with both teams making changes. Kiel, desperate to shore up their defense, brought on Tymoteusz Puchacz and Max Geschwill. Bayern, with one eye on their upcoming Champions League fixture, introduced Thomas Müller and Michael Olise in place of the impressive Musiala and Serge Gnabry. Despite these changes, the pattern of the game remained largely unchanged. Bayern continued to dominate possession and create chances, and went 5-0 up when Olise latched onto the rebound after Alphonso Davies's shot was saved. Kiel's perseverance was rewarded in the 82nd minute when Armin Gigović headed home from a Puchacz cross, giving the home fans something to celebrate. However, Bayern and Kane had the final say with a penalty in stoppage time to seal a comprehensive win.
