Ekitiké: "The best year of my life in Frankfurt"
Hugo Ekitiké has posted an emotional farewell to Eintracht Frankfurt following his summer transfer to Liverpool.
The 23-year-old's move to the Premier League champions was confirmed earlier this week and the France U21 international has since joined his new teammates on a pre-season tour of Asia.
His time in Frankfurt clearly made a lasting impression on Ekitiké, however.
"It's crazy how quickly time flies but leaves us indelible traces and memories," wrote the forward, who registered 15 goals and eight assists in 33 league outings in 2025/26, in a post on X.
He went on to thank Frankfurt's "incredible fans", saying he will be "the first supporter of this club that I love," while also expressing his gratitude to head coach Dino Toppmöller, who turned Ekitiké from a promising but raw attacker when he arrived on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2024 into one of the most sought-after forwards in the world game.

Ekitiké concluded his message by saying, "I wish you guys to win this Champions League (unless you face me)...
"I spent the best year of my life with you, you are engraved in me. Forever an Eagle."
