Injured duo Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala were at Säbener Straße on Monday to watch the next generation of Bayern Munich hopefuls.

Musiala recently underwent successful surgery on a fractured left fibula and disclocated ankle sustained during Bayern's FIFA Club World Cup 2025 quarter-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain, while Davies is working his way back from an ACL tear suffered on international duty with Canada in March.

With the first team not due to begin pre-season training until 29 July, the Bayern duo took the opportunity to cast an eye over the FC Bayern World Squad, an initiative which gives U19 players from around the world the chance to fulfill their dreams of becoming a professional footballer.

Musiala and Davies watched on as a select World Squad XI played out a 2-2 draw with the Austria Vienna U19s, the Bayern pair a reminder of how far hard work and talent can take an aspiring player.

Musiala made his Bayern debut within a year of joining Germany's record champions as a 16-year-old, while Davies earned a move to the club after impressing for Vancouver Whitecaps as a teenager.

Now first-team staples in their own right, they've each made over 200 senior appearances in a Bayern shirt, winning multiple domestic and European titles, including the 2024/25 Bundesliga.

The 2024/25 Bundesliga title was Davies' sixth and Musiala's fifth with Bayern.

Musiala has already begun the rehabilition process, but is unlikely to play again before the end of November.

Davies, meanwhile, could be available to head coach Vincent Kompany as early as October, having recently returned to individual fitness training alongside injured teammate Hiroki Ito (metatarsal).

Bayern begin their Bundesliga title defence at home to RB Leipzig on 21 August, six days after contesting the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup with DFB Cup holders VfB Stuttgart.
