Goals: 1-0
Martinez (23'), 2-0 Candreva (89')

FULL-TIME! INTER 2-0 DORTMUND

BVB lose for the first time this season in Europe and drop to second in Group F behind Barcelona, who have beaten Slavia Prague.

89' GOAL! INTER 2-0 DORTMUND - CANDREVA

And that probably wraps it up. Dortmund have committed men forward and Inter can counter with Brozovic sending Antonio Candreva away. Weigl and Hakimi are trying to catch up and cover but the Italy international goes alone, blasting the ball over Bürki for the hosts' second.

84' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Favre's final throw of the dice as he sends on Raphael Guerreiro for Thorgan Hazard.

82' SAVED! INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Lautaro Martinez steps up in front of a silent San Siro, slowly approaching the ball and fires it to Bürki's right, but the BVB keeper guesses right and gets two hands to the shot, even denying the Esposito on the follow-up!

81' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Hummels is adjudged to have taken down Esposito in the box and the referee points to the spot.

79' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

And immediately afterwards, Weigl has his name taken for taking down Martinez.

78' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Diego Godin has clearly picked up the Italian lingo since his move to Milan from Madrid as he jogs away doing some hand gestures after he's shown a yellow for hacking down Hazard.

75' CHANCE! INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Borussia are knocking now with Bruun Larsen bursting into the box and squaring for Sancho, who slips at the vital moment and has to adjust his feet. He manages to turn the ball towards goal but it's cleared off the line by Brozovic ahead of Bruun Larsen.

74' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

And that is the end of Akanji's night as he's replaced by Jacob Bruun Larsen in an attacking change by Favre.

73' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Another long ball from Inter opens up the game as Asamoah collects it on the left and plays it back to Martinez, who skips past one defender before Akanji gets in a crucial block.

65' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Favre makes his first substitution of the game with Mo Dahoud replacing Thomas Delaney.

64' CHANCE! INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Brandt shifts the ball out of his feet on the edge of the box and gets a shot away, which takes a slight deflection, forcing it to spin and bounce awkwardly in front of Handanovic, who reacts quickly enough to save.

62' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Sancho and Hakimi are running forward at pace, and the winger slips in the full-back as they reach the penalty area, but Asamoah gets back to block Hakimi's shot from a tight angle and even wins a goal-kick. Inter also make a change with Romelu Lukaku replaced by Sebastiano Espositano.

57' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Borussia are the ones applying the pressure now but Inter are defending with 10 men behind the ball and there is almost no space available in behind.

55' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Nicolo Barella mistimes a slide on Manuel Akanji and is shown the second yellow card of the game.

53' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Hakimi has all the time in the world to pick out a cross from the right, finding Sancho at the far post, but the England international's flick back towards Brandt is intercepted by Handanovic.

47' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

BVB were first out after the break but it's the home side on the front foot to begin. Asamoah takes down a high ball on the left and two passes later Inter are in the penalty area, Candreva spinning just left of centre but blasting well over.

KICK-OFF! INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

There were plenty of players out warming up during the break - for both sides. It looked like Inter were preparing for a change but it's the same 22 players that started the game who begin the second half.

HALF-TIME! INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Borussia trail in Milan and have some work to in the second half to maintain their unbeaten start to their Champions League campaign.

45'+1 CHANCE! INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

With the last kick of the half, Sancho almost brings Dortmund level with a low effort from a tight angle. It's curling into the far post but Handanovic gets down well to save and keep his side ahead.

44' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

It's Sancho this time over the free-kick, again he fails to find a teammate and Inter break forward.

43' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Dortmund have a chance to get the ball in the box with a free-kick wide on the right. Hazard opts for the low option to the edge of the penalty area but it's intercepted. A cross comes back in that's blocked by the arm of Brozovic and the Croatian is booked.

38' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

This game seems to go from walking pace to Usain Bolt in the blink of an eye. Both teams are happy to pass the ball around at the back without any real pressure, and then with the flick of a switch they move it forward.

33' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

Martinez looks to get onto the end of another Candreva cross from the right but is well marshalled by Akanji. The Inter forward has stayed down but referee Taylor signals that it's nothing more than a throw-in for Dortmund.

31' INTER 1-0 DORTMUND

The first real effort on goal from Borussia comes from Axel Witsel, but his shot from the edge of the box is always rising.

23' GOAL! INTER 1-0 DORTMUND - Martinez

This time the Inter striker makes no mistake. He spins in behind the Dortmund defence as a long ball comes through the centre from Stefan de Vrij. He's played onside, takes it down on his chest inside the box and slips the ball beyond the onrushing Bürki.

19' INTER 0-0 DORTMUND

Lautaro Martinez peels off at the far post as a cross comes in deep from the right wing, but the Argentine is unable to reach the ball with his outstretched leg.

17' INTER 0-0 DORTMUND

Sancho and Brandt combine well in the Inter box with the Englishman playing in the German behind the home defence, but the ball back across the area is blocked for a corner, which comes to nothing.

12' INTER 0-0 DORTMUND

Borussia have been very measured in their build-up play so far but this time move the ball quickly to Schulz high on the left. He lays the ball off to Hazard, who tries to work his way into the box but the ball runs away from him. It almost breaks for Sancho on the edge of the six-yard box but Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is quick off his line to collect.

5' INTER 0-0 DORTMUND

Antonio Candreva stands over a free-kick right of centre but drills it wide without bothering anyone else. In other news, it looks like Dortmund are actually lining up with a back three, Weigl playing between Akanji and Hummels. It means the BVB formation looks more like this:

Bürki – Akanji, Weigl, Hummels (c) – Hakimi, Witsel, Delaney, Schulz - Sancho, Brandt, Hazard

KICK-OFF! INTER 0-0 DORTMUND

Referee Anthony Taylor signals it's time to get this clash underway.

TEAMS IN THE TUNNEL

Dortmund and Inter are about to appear at the San Siro. Mats Hummels is the man leading BVB out in the absence of Reus, the first time he's captained the club in 1,250 days and the 2016 DFB Cup final.

IF YOU CAN'T BEAT THEM...

Inter will be playing in their usual black-and-blue kit tonight but they've actually been warming up in a black-and-yellow strip. Maybe it's just to confuse the travelling Dortmund fans.

DORTMUND'S FRONT LINE

The absence of Reus and also striker Paco Alcacer pose an interesting question about BVB's attack. Favre looks to have gone with a front three of Sancho, Brandt and Hazard, likely with the Germany international at the centre of the trio. But expect there to be a lot of movement across that front line as they look to cause confusion in Inter's defence.

LIE OF THE LAND

Group F is definitely one of the more exciting in this season's Champions League. BVB currently top the pile after two games following a dominant draw against Barcelona and a comfortable 2-0 win at Slavia Prague. They are level with the Spanish champions on four points, while tonight's opponents Inter have just one point to their name in third, only ahead of Slavia on goal difference.

ENFORCED CHANGE

Lucien Favre has brought in just one new face compared to Saturday's 1-0 win at home to Gladbach. Captain and matchwinner Marco Reus has flu so misses out, which means Jadon Sancho returns to the side after missing the weekend's action. Goalkeeper Roman Bürki had gone off with an injury on Saturday but is fit and ready for this clash in Italy.

WELCOME, WILLKOMMEN, BENVENUTI!

Borussia Dortmund are in the San Siro in Milan to take on Inter in Champions League Group F. It's a mouth-watering clash between two of Europe's heavyweights and could go a long way to deciding who progresses in a section that also features Barcelona and Slavia Prague. Latest

Inter have ground to make up on Dortmund after drawing with Slavia Prague and losing to Barcelona in their opening two Group assigments. The Italians topped Serie A until their 2-1 defeat to champions Juventus prior to the October international break, and were hardly convincing in their 4-3 triumph away to Sassuolo on Sunday. Leading scorers Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku shared the goals, but Alexis Sanchez missed the game after suffering an ankle injury on international duty with Chile, and isn't expected to play again this year. Inter are also without defender Danilo D'Ambrosio and midfielder Stefano Sensi as coach Antonio Conte plots to end the club's six-match losing streak against Bundesliga clubs.

Dortmund will be confident of extending the hoodoo after making such an impressive start in Europe. BVB were desperately unlucky not to beat Barcelona at the Signal Iduna Park - Marc Andre ter Stegen made some fine saves and kept out a Marco Reus penalty - but ran out comfortable 2-0 winners in Prague. Defender Achraf Hakimi scored both goals in the Czech capital, having been the surprise instigator of the Black-Yellow's 4-0 triumph over Atletico Madrid 12 months earlier, providing three assists. The Real Madrid loanee continued his run in the team as club captain Reus scored his sixth goal of the season in a 1-0 win over former club and leaders Borussia Mönchengladbach at the weekend. As expected, Sancho goes straight back into the side after missing the Battle of the Borussias on disciplinary grounds, but Paco Alcacer - absent for Dortmund's last three matches with an Achilles complaint - has not travelled with the squad. BVB are also without club captain Reus, who remains in Dortmund suffering from the flu.
