Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has said he is not fazed by the prospect of facing English Premier League high-flyers Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League.
Sancho will come up against some of his England teammates when he returns to his home city of London for the first leg of Dortmund’s last 16 tie on 13 February.
The 18-year-old’s international colleagues Dele Alli and Harry Kane are set to miss that match through injury, in what is a knockout encounter that players from both sides have been keenly looking forward to.
“Dele messaged me straight after the draw saying ‘get ready, we’re coming for you!’ and I said exactly the same,” Sancho told FourFourTwo magazine.
“It’ll be a good, tough game, but I have a bit of experience playing at Wembley now. We’ll be going all out for the win.
“I’ve had so many messages from friends asking for tickets. I think fans back home are excited in general, because I’m English, and have seen me play for the national team so know me.”

Sancho said being called up by England was the biggest surprise of his career so far, but it was no real shock to observers who have watched him chalk up six goals and nine assists in this season’s Bundesliga.
The tricky winger - who played at Wembley in England’s UEFA Nations League win over Croatia in November – also helped Dortmund top their Champions League group before Christmas by scoring in a 4-0 drubbing of Atletico Madrid.
Spurs are next on the agenda in Europe in what has been a stellar start to Sancho’s career, but the former Watford and Manchester City youngster is also hoping his team can round off the domestic season in style.
“I don’t know what the future holds – I just focus on Dortmund and trying to win the Bundesliga,” he said.
“That would be a dream come true, my first trophy. I mean, wow, that would be something else.”
