Jadon Sancho's marvellous first goal since returning to Borussia Dortmund was on everyone's lips after their 2-1 win at Werder Bremen on Matchday 25 - his coach Edin Terzić included.

Sancho made his eighth appearance for BVB following his loan move from Manchester United in January, starting for the sixth time as he works his way back to form and fitness.

After providing an assist in Darmstadt in his first outing in January, the 23-year-old had not had a direct hand in any goals for the club - until Matchday 25 in Bremen

Shortly before half-time, he showed exactly why he became such a fan favourite during his first stint at the club, ghosting past Julián Malatini with a feint and a shift of gear before chasing behind the Bremen defence and beating Michael Zetterer.

Dortmund were well in control at that time, Sancho's strike putting them 2-0 up, but it proved to be decisive as Marcel Sabitzer's sending off a short while later left BVB on the back foot for the remainder of a game they held on to win 2-1.

After the final whistle, Terzić could not hide his delight as the winger showed a flash of the kind of brilliance he earned a reputation for.

"Jadon shoots before anyone else sees it," said the Dortmund coach. "He's not a player that has a really hard shot or a very precise shot, but he gets his shots away very quickly.

"We were working in training all week on him getting into situations where he can gain confidence. It showed what he is capable of, and hopefully he can continue like this."

Sancho will be back in front of the famed Yellow Wall on Wednesday when Dortmund take on PSV in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 match-up as they look to progress to the quarter-finals after drawing 1-1 in the first leg.
